This challenge is for the Route X circuit, anything (except for hacked cars) goes.

Please list time and car used (tune as well, if you're feeling generous). I'll continually update this post with the current record holder.

To start, my current best is 3:47.097, '13 Pagani Huayra. If my sleep deprived math checks out that's a 295.96 MPH average speed.

Current Fastest: SyzygyDarklock, 3:42:xxx, '13 Pagani Huayra

I never really kept track but I think my Supra managed a 4:10 maybe 4:09
the supra is the only car i have used on SSRX.

Mercedes VGT in 3:57.XXX
Audi Auto Union '37 in 4:04.XXX

Neither were tuned, just max power added. Nothing fancy.
I am tempted to tune the Audi as it does an easy 296 on the straights. I have to take the turns at 260ish to keep it stable though. I'm sure it could do 300 all around with the right tuning.

4.10 in The GT skyline pace car, was the most fun race on SSRX
Two mates, drafting, Nos good fun:)
On topic, 3.51.xx in a Huayra AE

I have no idea what my fastest time was. Not a track I enjoy driving on, far to boring but whatever it was I was hitting 309 MPH so it didn't take long but still about 4 times as long as I would like to spend on that track. I am so glad they made that race only 1 lap any more than that would put me to sleep.

The Supra is definitely broken. Nothing suggests that this car can go as fast as it goes.

It's the car I used to grind Like the Wind since ever, but I've also made other LTW cars lately: A Ford GT, Viper Comp Coupe and Ruf CRT2. None can reach the Supra's speed, with as much as 100HP of advantage and better aerodynamics. As I've said many times, I don't really like the tuning trend, but the Supra is probably the best choice for this race if you want to do it quick, cheap and efficiently.

I've done around 4:10 as well.

I think the problem lays more with GT in general. For the physics of GT the supras speed is totally acceptable. If gt were more realistic in general then the supra would be more realistic. There are plenty of real supras with more than 1000HP and one has even done 249MPH. so the 285MPH that Ive done in GT6 isn't that insane.

I think that the aerodynamic model in GT is not accurate. Even without N02, the Supra can hold a higher speed than other 900HP+ cars in the game. And the Supra is kind of a large and tall car.

'13 Huayra 3:42 Top recorded speed 322mph, although I've noticed you have to maintain top speed for about a second for it to be official... I've hit higher speeds for a split second and it not seem to count... 'Vette ZR1 and Viper ACR both at 4:08 don't need NOS on the front end 'cause Man those cars can DRAFT!!!!:D actually makes the SSRX a blast to drive!!!

thats what I was meaning.

That time is amazing! I have no idea how to improve my current setup by even a tenth, let alone five seconds...

Politely disagreed.

Ever heard of the Texas Mile?

Current record-holder is a purpose-built, twin turbo Ford GT that trapped at 278.2 mph.

Previous record holder? A purpose-built Ford GT (from the same owner) that trapped at 267.6 mph.

Know how they got that fast?

2,000 hp.

Even if someone built a 2,000 hp Supra (as some have already done,) as beautiful as the Mark IV is, it's only so aerodynamic.

Until you're able to show a real life Mark IV at the Texas Mile, SpeedWeek, etc. breaking 260, I'm gonna call shenanigans on 285 being a realistic speed in GT6.

Fun? For sure. Realistic? I don't think so, no.

You might have missed my point. I meant that GT is the unrealistic one not the supra. If GT were better with aerodynamics then the supra would have a more realistic top speed. Granted the supra in GT tops out with less than 900HP its top seed ought to be a magnitude less.
I don't even like supras that much so I don't know why arguing this in the first place. :P

The key is to draft until you're almost bumper to bumper with the cars and pass with no more than an inch to spare, set you're top 2 gears a little higher and have at least 50% NOS going into the 2nd straight with a little bit left over going into the finish right after the last turn...:gtpflag: Also when you say Supra, what model are you talking about??

Just bought and ran the Supra RZ got 4:03.37... Anyway, the Supra is a juiced up Celica and I've personally driven an '85 Celica GTS over 150mph no mods, so I don't think 300++ mph by fiddling with the tune in the Supra RZ is any way out of the question...:D
