Whataburger and Carls Jr. are both good but their prices are a little out of the fast food realm.

Reading this thread (especially this page) I'm actually surprised at how many different fast food places there are in this country. I remember when I lived in Colorado there was a great Mexican place called Chipotle and a drive-thru burger place called Good Times. Chicago is fairly normal in comparison with other midwestern cities in what we have. My favourite is Carl's Jr., though there's none in the city of Chicago (one out here in the 'burbs though).

I'm surprised you guys still have Whataburger in the southwest - Although it never made it to Denver, when I lived in Dallas, I ate there a few times and couldn't take the food.
