What's everyone's favorite race?

One of my favorites is taking my old RX-7 Infini III FC to the Amateur Turbo Series' Grand Valley track. I have the FC modded with all the best brakes, suspension, and tranny options (no LSD) engine balancing, port&polish, racing chip, stage1 turbo, medium race tires, and all 3 weight reductions. I think that takes my FC to about 280hp. I pit it against the computer's New Beetle RSI, and it usually makes for a pretty close race when I try to avoid all contact with the computer cars.

I'm looking for other tight races like this around with around 3 or 5 laps (please, no enduros!).

What do you guys/gals like?

Thanks.

Still working on the RSX Type-S versus the Polyphony Digital race. . . Dam you Famine for making me curios to see if I could win with it. . . :|

So far my favorite race is the Roadster Endurance with the Miata LS and T2 tires...it's a pretty close race until the benefit of pitting fewer times eventually adds up in your favor. But you still have to have some skills to either chip away at the lead or at least not let the lead car run away...

hehe, sounds like im still in the same boat as miata13B

i've been trying to beat it with any FF car. So far the Integra (Honda, not Acura), and the RSX have been my best finishers. But im still far from winning with them.

I'll basically go for anything unasuming though, like a Legacy Wagon in the Pro Series Boxer Car Cup. That sorta thing.

i always liked the AE86 on ssr5 wet

(the one you do in the S license test)

oh, btw, this is my first post. yee-haw.

wicked, i thought this thread was dead.

good to see ur inputs... i might try some of ur car/track setups.

i love the AE86, but only the fast, modified Shigeno version :)

and i agree, the SSR5 is a good track for the 8-6, but not wet.. i prefer traction. :D

omg what's with this trying to use a stock FF car in the PD cup?

i tried my acura integra type-r @200 hp on T2's (or T3's.. can't remember) just now in the PD cup.... i'm getting smoked?! i quit after 15 laps cuz the lead car was over a minute ahead of me.

am i missing some kinda info here? from the looks of it, i don't think i can beat any of the computer cars that have over 100 hp on me, and me in an FF car.

My favourite track to race on is Deep Forest/Deep Forest II with a Toyota GT-One Race Car(1300 BHP).It looks so awesome in the replays.

At the moment I'm having fun with a stock GT40 road car in the Amature Gran turismo world championship.
1st race got 1st position
2nd got second positon
3rd got 1st
4th I got first position and pole and I hav't done the rest.

I would of won the second race but I forgot to qualify!:banghead:
Does this championship have the test course? I hope not because that will be a tough one.:)

Mazda Rx-8 with all the modifications on Route 246. Or F090/s on Route 246. Or The Ruf 3400S on Route 246.

Hell, I just love Route 246.

No, it does not. It doesn't have the Super Speedway either. So, it shouldn't be that bad.

Anything on Complex String.

Without a doubt, cxs is one of my favorite tracks.

I prefer a high powered car, but not the super high powered mid rear cars. They are alright, but I like something a little smaller for the twisties. :trouble:

After cxs, I would have to say my favorite track is grand valley or rome. Then again, deep forest II is a great one also.

Btw, the rgt on any of them is awesome. :D

i use a slightly modified siliva 1800cc @ one of the amateur rwd competiton races. for me its been very difficult, best i've gotten is 4th or 3rd place, but than again i'm probably not as good as some of you.

i think these are what i have on the car:
supension: semi-racing
brakes: sport brakes w/o brake balance
engine: semi-racing exhaust & sport comp.
drivetrain: twin clutch, semi racing flywheel, semi-racing tranny, no lsd
turbo: i think none, except for maybe a semi-racing intercooler
tires: sports
weight: stage 1 only

i also have the oil changed

give it a try, its makes for a very interesting race...

F094/S on Cote, Free Run. I can easily do 30 - 40 laps without even knowing it.
Mini on Cote, Free Run.
F090/S on Laguna & Cote, Formula GT. This race is fun because to keep up with the pit strategy of the AI F094/S... you pretty much have to race about 1.5 laps with red tires.

imma stay w/ the classic race of all time. the Monaco GP, or "cote d' azur" w/ the F904S (red) racing in the formula gt series race. i just do it to post fast laps...gahahha

Taking the GT-one around Laguna in Pro Allstar with these cars in the field:
R390 GT1
787b
GT-one (team mate :D )
Zonda Race car
and two of them LM-cars any kind doesnt matter...

15laps of joy!

very tough question...

it would be the Poly001 and Cote d'Azur
or the Elise MS and the Cote
or Lancer Evos (any kind) and SS5 wet
or lastly, Celica TRD SS5 dry..

at the moment though i am liking the MS Elise on Seattle reverse..WRS

Did a race in an OLR comp last week, A Tickford Falcon(630HP)/Sim mode/Amatuer Dream Car championship (Deep Forest), the winning time was a 5:49 (my best was a 5:52), was a damn good race to run

As has been said earlier, anything around the 'string is good fun

cool thanks man. this WAS what i was looking for to spark new interest in GT3 for me... but then I found the weekly race series :(

still... i'll give this a try. i'll let u know how i finish.

I got a little something for the Zonda Racer.

and Laguna Seca and Cote d'azure (Monaco) are my favorites. Very technical.

ZZII (no turbo upgrades) and the Seattle Enduro.

Yeah it may be a bit of overkill I agree, but I enjoy racing it and I do it for the fun not for the money/prize car. I never initially won it with the ZZII by the way
