For me, GT is best when the racing is close, and the only way to win is to nail every corner perfectly and the slightest mistake will mean game over. Too often the aim seems to be owning the fastest car (or so it seems to me and my 11% completion).

So, what has been your closest race, best battle, hardest fought victory?

Mine was the Aston Festival in a V8 Vantage, heavily modded. The car handles great, if a little heavy, and beating the DB9 was a real challenge. I wasn't going to resort to buying one myself as I knew it was the prize car, besides the Vantage had cost me a lot of money. Autumn Ring took me 4 or 5 attempts to win, and it was great when I did. I think my Aston was maxxed out with S4 tyres if you want to try to recreate the race.

Fave car - MCoupe, fantastic handling.

I loved the supercar championship in the Speed 12. It gets squirrely in the corners, so you can drift it around every once and a while to stay up front :)

I tend to like the production & touring car races more than the LMP races... at least for now. Right now my favorite is running my Nismo Fairlady Z in the El Capitan Tuning Car Race. Those Ruf Yellowbirds are never far behind. I also like the Supercar Festival on Infineon Sports Course.

I like the driving missions where you have to play catch up. It just reminds me of GT3 when my roomie would have trouble in a race and i would jump onto the controls to see if i could come back and win it.

Mine was the gt world championship.I won in a minolta and won the championship by one point. And the car who got second in points was the 2J race car.

The German Touring car champs are great in the 190E Merc, As was the Italian race in the Stratos, the French race in an Alpine 1600..I love the euro hall

Race against a friend who thinks like you. Drives like you, and drives the same car as you. Front to rear racing, is a heart stopper.

I like the German Touring Car championship as well, in an unmodded Calibra it is quite a tough challenge... except for the High Speed ring and Midfield. I can't win on Nür with that car though.

I also did that Aston Martin cup, it was nearly impossible in my V8 Vantage, but with TCS set to 2 it was easier. The V8 Vantage has one hell of a lot of wheelspin.

nurburgring 24 hour (nissan falken skyline GTr race car), el capitan 200 mile (mclaren SLR), GT world championship (minolta toyota 88c-v), germantouring cars (Audi A4 touring car), Formula GT (Formula gran Turismo), Race of the red emblem (nissan skyline m spec nur)

i know i have no life but hey! :dopey:

jayjay
i hate that race :grumpy: i always came in last which car do you use :dunce:

Uhhhh... the SPEEDSTER. Just buy most of the upgrades for it and RACING tires. This is the only race I needed nitros for to win... nearly impossible to win without nitro.... for me anyway, I don't like the speedster.

Suzuka with my black mazda 787B on super hard tires
the AMG Mercedes clk gtr and the minolta 88cv where faster but when mine tires heated up i was like a rocket but did you know that the mazda has sometimes a lot of understeer

I love the Honda Type R race, with my new civic type R mildly(Sorry bad english)tuned, that race is great fun civic is fast as hell and awsome in corners.

Have to say, Capri Rally.
Every time I get a new car I take it to the Capri track to try it out. I found that you'll get to know a car quite intimatly in that race. 👍

I agree, you get alot of variety in that track, I've found it a good place to find out how far you can push a car.

I remember my race of Infineon at the Gran turismo allstars championship. Was running the jag xjr9 I had bought. Hard battles in the pack, and then, chasing the Nissan R92 leader.
Unable to reduce the gap, but I kept pressure on him, 5 sec behind, caring for my tires, thinking "well, let's be patient".
On the last lap, the R92 began to lose time, he had tires trouble, and I overtook him 2 curves before the end. :) A really special race for me, as it alowed me also to earn precious points for the championship.

On the other side I remember I lost control because of my tires just before the last hairpin of Automn ring B, and lost 1st place. Difficult to admit such a big mistake at the end while I had a few seconds margin. :ouch:

Id have to agree with this guy, That little type R really hugs the corners and loves being slung right in as fast as possible and still holds the road. Mines fully modified and its a blast to drive.

I was racing the 1st rally race in a mclaren f1, and I kept hitting the walls, getting penalties, well it ended up the AI car was like right beside me at the finish. It was cool! I think I won by like .009

Rally d' Umbria and Rally d' Capri in all difficulties, driving an BMW M3 CSL. What a dream race, tight and very fast streets, nice corners, beautiful scenery. I will never get tired of those races.

City d'Aria for me as well. The reverse track requires a totally different strategy to normal, but is very rewarding when you only just miss the wall at full speed :scared:.

I've changed my favorite race...
I am right now in the middle of the F1 championship race at High Speed Ring, this race is awesome! My driver will get to the lead and will like swap the lead like 10 tiems with 2 or 3 other cars, but then he wrecks, falls back, and comes right back up to the lead again. THIS IS SO FREAKIN AWESOME!

Call me crazy, but I had a lot of fun doing Circuit de la Sarthe 24hr I. I had an Audi R8 on my tail for the entire time, as I won by less than a lap. I was using the '04 Pescarolo, BTW.

Ok CRAZY!! u must be crazy to like a 24 HOUR RACE! I mean goodness I couldn't stand doing the 24 hr one i did on b-spec. but hey thats your opinion and this is mine.
