I just wanted to know what your favourite convertible is in GT3 and why?

For myself it would have to be the Honda S2000 and RUF 3400s (Porsche Boxter)
It was interesting, last night i did a few hot laps with both of these cars and even tho they had roughly the same HP the 3400's outperformed the other. The RUF actually had around 5hp less than the Honda. The RUF outperformed the Honda in both top-end grunt and handling. Acceleration for the cars were about the same.

I havent mucked around with the SLK convertible i think it is...or is it CLK? i forget. Do you guys ever just compare cars in the game buy doing your fastest time and then try to outperform it with another car of the same HP? Its interesting. Anyway whats convertibles do you like in the game?

Oh and i had stock suspension on the boxter and it still had better handling than the S2000 with fully worked suspension. The S2000 has great balance and it makes a very stable drift car. I thought that it would be better than the RUF but its not IMHO. I wonder how the 3400s would be as a drift car? I havent seen many people use it....hmmmzz i might have to try that.

Its funny, i enjoy comparing cars in the game now more than i do racing. I find it more fun to try beat my own ghost car.

Oh cool. I have a stock one sitting in my garage, i'll give it a test run tonight. Actually i think i just have the MR2.

S15 Silvia Varietta. I like the way I can kick the rear-end out after a short turn with racing slicks. Not so much a drift, but a classy fishtail. ^_^

duh! Any RUF will out perform any old Honda any day of the week (at least in GT3)

:)

While I love the 3400s, it's balance and handling...I gotta say the Shelby Cobra is the most fun you can have with your car buying credits with a rag-top in GT3. Maybe not the fastest but definately the most fun. Tune the car and it is one of the faster cars in the game.

All the convertibles automatically have their ragtops up whenever you race them, so they all suck. At least in GT4 you'll be able to drive the Cobra with the top down...

I have a portable fan I turn on when I drive a convertible. Makes the driving experience more real with the wind in my face.
The Cobra is a blast.

Edit : Spelling

i'd have to say eunos MX-5. thatd be sick if there'll be convertible FC3S's, S13's, and other 240's. i might be going off track here, but i'd love to see an old school celica supra, all the 80's corollas, and some GTI VW in GT4. since i've already bounced off track here, i'd also like to hear more variety in engine exhaust notes.

S15 Silvia Varietta.
Just the worse, most useless car in the game. Unless you drive one in real life and then you opinion may be slightly biased.
Are they only sold in Japan?

It's just kinda fun to jet around R246 with. Not like I own (or would own) one in real life.

For serious driving, however, my number one favorite ragtop is my white S2000 Type V.

IS THAT MORE SOCIALLY ACCEPTABLE???

Just kidding. ^_^

Yes and YES.

Uncle Harry your a funny one... using a fan to make the experience of driving a convertible more real. I thought i was bad, considering to purschase some racing shoes just for GT3!!
haha. Now on a serious note the white S2000 type V is one of my favourites too! For some reason it looks even better in white. I have the black and yellow Mugen S2000 that i use for drifting, its balance is great.

A black MR-S... I love it. Of course, I love MR2s and the MR-S... and Toyota, so I am slightly biased...

My next would have to be the Elise.... cause well, its the spiritual brother of the MR2 :D

You can buy the MR-S. I really like the MR-S. I was driving it not long ago in arcade mode. I had great fun racing against the SLK.

The MR-S is what is called the MR2 Spyder in the states. But I'm pretty sure they just call it the MR-S in GT3, and you can get it for about 19000 credits. I like ot get the Miata via license tests, and then sell it and get an MR-S, or do the clubman's cup, sell both, and get an MR2 GT-S ._>

As far as convertibles go, I would have to cast my vote for the TVR...601 hp (ish) as long s you control that rear tire spin exiting corners...its wicked fast, and handles almost
dream-like

I thought I was going to say miata, but then ttj mentioned the tvr. I must agree with him. All of the TVR's in the game are excellent. Sliding that thing was amazing.

Ok kewl.

I have the MR2 and MR2 G-Limited, i had no idea there was an MR-S. So you can actually buy it? I'll check it out.
