Are you kidding?
I did a search but it was pretty much all for discussion of GT3's corners.

Take the 'favourite' as read, be it to watch, drive or otherwise.

I think my favourite is Corkscrew at Laguna Seca. In what would already be a challenging turn on the flat plunges down, almost bending the laws of physics for what goes through it.

Another favourite of mine is the classic 130R. It's one of those turns where you need to keep your nerve or you could lose a lot of time.
It's also gained cult status somewhat. :D

Another I rate highly is Druids at Brands Hatch. After the plummet in the first turn, and the climb up to the corner, it's vital to carry speed into it, but too much and accidents occur.

So GTPlanet, what are your favourite racing corners?

I don't have one favorite, but there are a few.
1. Eau Rouge
2. Adelaides Turn 8 Sweeper
3. The Corkscrew
4. Porsche Curves, though, they're more of a series of corners
5. Turn 1 of Interlagos has always produced some interesting moments.

That's about all I can think of.

The Mulsanne and Indianapolis, two beautiful corners, entered with enormous speeds (The Toyota GT-One set a speed of 351,9 km/h in the Mulsanne in 1999).

I have a lot of favorites, but I'll rank it by numbers. So here it is:
  1. Monza Circuit:Turn 9,Curva Parabolica
  2. Sepang Circuit:Turn 15
  3. .Nürburgring-Nordschleife Circuit:Karussell
  4. .Circuit Catalunya (before 2007):Turn 14,New Holland
  5. .Fuji Speedway 90's:300R
  6. .Laguna Seca:Turn 8,Corkscrew
  7. .Istanbul Park:Turn 8
  8. .Indianapolis Motor Speedway (F1):Turn 13
  9. .Shanghai International Circuit:Turn 13

and of course a lot more, but i just can't remember all......

Hm, that is an interesting question. Although my motorsport specialties are mainly limited to the local race courses, and of course NASCAR, I can only speak with a minor knowledge of tracks with personal experience, outside of course of what I have "raced" in the various video games.

Of tracks I've actually been to:

1) Corner 10 ("The Far Corner") At Grattan Raceway:

Flat out you're running up to a pretty tight right hander (depending on what configuration you're running) that leads to an uphill sprint through 11 and 12. The segment is usually good for some passing between the higher and lower powered cars, although my experience there was on a bike, so you could only go as fast as your legs could push (or pull) you (and your teammates).

2) Turn 4 At Daytona International Speedway:

Its one of the more infamous corners of any NASCAR speedway, and indeed is usually one of the more interesting corners of any circle track. Although it did claim the life of Dale Sr., it usually serves as the point by which most of the final passing situations are made during the 500, and indeed makes it an interesting place indeed.

Places I haven't been:

1) Hatzenbach-Hocheichen at the Nurburgring:

Simply put, it puts an emphasis on finesse and confidence, and punishes those who are too impatient and too stupid to take their time with their cars. I see so many people spin off into the dirt here, its actually quite sad.

2) Luffield at Silverstone:

Similar to the 'Ring, Luffield separates those who are too impatient from those who can wait. If you've got the right car, you can pick them off when they go too wide, and then out-accelerate them to the finish. I love it!

1.) Moss corner @ Mosport (MOE SSS PORT)
2.) Eau Rouge @ Spa
3.) Corkscrew at Laguna
4.) "Safety pin" at Sebring
5.) Sunset Bend at Sebring

1) Grand Hotel Hairpin (Monaco GP, Monaco)
2) Eschbach-Pflanzgarten; 1 turn-Aremburg (Nurburgring Nordschliefe, Germany)
3) Ford Chicane (LeMans, France)
4) Sunset Bend (Sebring, Florida)
5) Bus Stop (Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium)

Turn One at Bristol Motor Speedway! Bristol,Tn. You have to see it in person with 160,000 other fans (Not a single one using the seat that they paid for).

After watching coverage from the USGP this weekend, I'll have to go with Turn 11 at the IMS GP circuit for now. It's a beetch, ain't it? :scared:

Masta kink on the old, long Spa. I've "died" many a time trying to get through there in Grand Prix Legends.

Blanchimont & Pouhon @ Spa Francorchamps
Deer Leap @ Oulton Park
Bomb Hole & Corum Curve @ Snetterton
Craner Curves @ Donnington Park

It's treacherous, it's demanding, it's decisive, but still remains fun at the end of the day. I'm talking about the Laguna Seca Corkscrew. It is arguably the most famous corner in all of America. Get it right, and you've saved almost a whole second on your lap times. Get it wrong and... well, just get it right.

Vote me for the Laguna Seca Corkscrew. You dig?

A couple I like:

Eau Rouge - Spa-Francorchamps
Turn 1 & 2 at Interlagos (now called Autodromo Carlos Pace I think)

Also several corners from Nordschleife as well as Road America, can't think of specific ones at the moment.

Eau Rouge is one, Spoon Corner another, and there are sections that are really great too, such as the Esses at Suzuka, or from the Nouvelle Chicane to Rascasse at Monaco, or from Copse to Becketts at Silverstone.
I could probably go on for some time with this, bút I´ll settle with this for now!

For Spectating:

Brainerd International Raceway - Turn 3 with a view of 4 , or turn 6 with a view of 7 and 8.

Road America - Canada Corner, sitting on the hill with a beer and a brat. Turn 5 or the Hurry Downs are good too.

Circuit Gilles Villenuve - anywhere you can actually see the track (I had General Admission)

MIS - anywhere above the 20th row you can see the whole track.

Lime Rock Park - Turn 3

Road Atlanta - The esses going uphill.

Watkins Glen - I'll be adding this in a couple of weeks after the Indycar Race.

Maine Forest Rally - The turn out of the Paper Mill onto Main St.

Ojibwe Forest Rally - They're all good!

I have been to Laguna too. There was a school going on when I was there. The Corkscrew is a sight to behold. Looks like fun.
