i don't have one. I use the first two numbers of the engine displacement and round. A shelby Cobra has the number 70, a v12 vantage has 59, gt350 with 47. it works.
 
I use #4 ,#14, #23, and #62

Most of them on my normal cars and for number 62 on my Super GT's
 
Since I've never actually raced, I usually stick with #94 simply because it's my birth year.

I left mine blank. I learned it cannot return to blank after trying to change the number, so I quit the game and returned and the number was not saved. Will not be touching that for the rest of my history in GT6 though :P

Either #44, because of some obscure reason relating to a Fifa game save, or #16, because that's the date my birthday falls upon. :P
 
If I use a number its 86, for the year I was born.
 
I've used the number 20 ever since I started riding back in '04. I'll likely be using it the rest of my life unless I'm forced to use a different number, but that doesn't really count anyways, right?
 
6. In different iterations. A GT1 spec car gets 61, a GT3 spec car 63 etc. But mostly, its just 6.
 
Mostly I use #16, but sometimes I use #42 and #28 as well.
