He he I see what your up to.

2 years warranty covers the first part of your question.

After that it's the same with every item you purchase. Anything can happen.

Question to you Wishy. Well 2 actually.

What wheel do you own?

Do you work for Thrustmaster,Frex etc etc.
( I'll get jumped on for question 2, I always do when I ask that ).

Cheers.

The second best aspect of the Fanatec wheels, the first being performance, is the two year warranty. Apparently a German Law mandates it. I've had issues with my Turbo S wheels ( I bought two so I could have a backup) but once you jump through the hoops they require if it breaks they have been good at honoring the warranty. Will it last over two years? That depends a lot on how much you use it.

I hope they have a good supply of repair parts available for Elites and CSWs in a couple years as people expect wheels that expensive to be able to repaired, after their warranty runs out.

Edit: I'd immagine after the first 2 years we'll have all the usuall suspects sorted out as far as what is likely to fail, and we'll have threads on how to fix them.

Well, I can tell you already that the fan in the Elite and CSW is probably going to say bye bye after 50.000 hours (roughly 5.5-6 years) depending on the fan. At least that's the normal average live expectency of a 120mm fan.

Presumably things like fans are easily replaced..

And in 5-6 years who knows what will be on the market

Hopefully a holo deck ;)

I have had my pwts since it released and have had no issues except for firmware, and that's an easy fix.

The noise my GT2 fan is making I doubt it will last 500 hours.

It uses smaller sized fans, which have a lower life expectancy. Usually 20.000 to 30.000 hours I believe. Then you are looking at a year or 3. Just look up any pc case fan. Brands are scythe, coolermaster, noctua, antec, papst, recoom.

I have never had a PC fan make that noise. It sounds like a dying cow when I first turn on my Gt2.

Well, when a fan stops working it either just stops, or the bearings wear out or give in and break somehow and it makes a horribly rattling and vibrating noise.
I just never knew a dying cow made the same noises. lol

I am sure it can be fixed easily enough with 2 replacement fans.
