I'm nowhere near fast enough for GT Academy, but from what I've read the fastest guys tend to use low force feedback settings.

I use maximum FFB, because the G27 has horrible FFB strength on GT6.

Full FFB. I like a heavy wheel and tend to set my cars to oversteer which compensates for understeering the car out of exits.
but its personal choice for everyone. theres no time advantage really.

set it so it feels comfortable and then just drive fast..

This. It's not even the FFB really, it's the deadzone before the ffb kicks in.

I usually use the start+select+circle combo, even with that it's still noticable. Only the square or triangle combo seem to negate the deadzone, but it's honestly too twitchy for me.
