Just ordered one today through WSP for Aus delivery, Will let you guys know how long it is before it arrives, most of the time international items take anywhere between 10-14 days.

The old coffee table always works.

The coffe table in my room is a thick glass item with oddly shaped edges, also the pedal assembly is to big to fit in between the couch & the base of the coffe table (its an odd design with a bottom edge all the way around)

Sorta like this one but in a square shape

As far as i understand they are currently out of stock and won't be restocked until the new year. I opted for the Fanatec Wheel Stand from The GamesMen in N.S.W. i ordered it this and received it on Wednesday, this is by far the best one i have seen for under $200

I work for a major shipping company in the US and I'm a international clerk for them. I can tell you that sometimes packages get held up in customs for no good reason. While others that just slide right through. I don't know what shipper they used or if it crossed any borders but this might be the problem. I also know that some companies like mine scan packages at every facility and others never give you any scans, but they're still on the way. Also wheelstand's site says there deluxe stand is back ordered till the end of JAN. I do know wheelstand has to separate sites. I searched them and it took me to the UK site and the price was high. Then I looked at where there were at. And searched wheelstand us and there it was. IDK if any of my rambling helps.

Hmmm. But starbug should still have a valid tracking number... and one would hope Seb will reply to his emails soon.

Incidentally - and not to wind you up starbug - but I have checked mine this morning and the tracking is showing an estimated delivery date of today, 17-Dec-2010. Not sure if that's valid though, as it's still at the "National Hub".

I'll keep you informed so you can use me as a yard stick..

AFAIK the wheelstand is shipped from Poland and sent to UK, both are EU countries so customs shouldn't be an issue.

WSP customer service is seriously lacking. I ordered a Wheel Stand Pro from them and after a few weeks they sent me a fake / invalid tracking number. After a week of waiting in futility for a tracking number to work, I'm getting annoyed.

I've emailed them several times, and now they just ignore my emails! Very frustrating.

I'm going to file a complaint against WSP through PayPal and get my money back, and just order an alternative. Over £100.00 to this company for an invalid tracking number and ignored emails isn't my idea of a good way to spend my hard earned GBP!

The problem is.. what is the alternative lol.. not the old ironing board surely!

Anyone have any suggestions for a similar alternatives? No fixed chair-stand combo, must be similar to WSP in design / function.

I'd give it another week at least mate. The stand is coming from poland and it might not show on the tracking site until it enters the UK. I know mine didn't show up right away.

Talk about not having any patience.

Disagree - and not a very helpful comment either. 👎

The OP should have had a valid tracking number. He's paid a lot of money for something and it's not good when you're left in limbo with no one to talk to. Even though WSP are inundated due to GT5/Christmas, Seb has always got back to me very quickly and his comms have been very good.

If you read the whole thread you will see I ordered after the OP and have received my tracking number which says it might be delivered today so I can feel his frustrations. I hope WSP make contact with him soon.

Glad to hear yours arrived safely.

I did get an email this morning, saying the stand was stolen and offering a replacement or a refund. I'll probably take the refund, as the whole process has just left me frustrated.

I take back what I said earlier, their customer service came through in the end, but the overall transaction still leaves a bad taste, not the fault of WSP, but thanks to some thief, I don't get to play with my new wheel until I find and order an alternative.

Thanks for everyones feedback in this thread..

Have a good weekend, everybody :)

UPDATE-

Got this e-mail in the morning:

Hello

thank you for your order.

We are shipping out your stand to this address in three weeks:

Australia

Yours sincerely,
Karolina Bik

P.S. We are having a delay due to GT5 arrival. If you are not willing to
wait that long please contact me back and I will cancel your order.

When you receive email from PayPal that "Abitech has accepted your

You would think that they would have updated the website initially.

Yes, I agree.

On a slightly separate note I have been using with my new stand all weekend and I have to say I am very impressed - the build quality is exceptional and I was surprised how heavy - and sturdy the unit is when in play. I had to tighten up one of the nuts as I was getting a bit of lateral movement but once I did that I was well away. You forget you're even using it after a couple of laps which I suppose is testament to the design.

The missus is loving the fact I do not have to re-arrange the room to play - and I'm really pleased as I can be racing within one minute now. £93.00 very well spent. 👍

TST, I know it's three weeks to wait - but it'll be well worth the wait for sure.

I've never had any problems with their service. In fact the first stand I ordered came with some missing bolt's. They e-mailed me before I received the stand that they will forward on my missing bolt's.

Loved it so much I bought another one off them.

First class service and a first class product.

Had mine for over a month now (ordered it before GT5 release, forward thinking or what) and have been delighted with it. Would recommend it to anyone.

Just make sure you put it on something, like a pice of old carpet, or towel before you use it, because else your missus wont love it anymore, as the rubber it stands on can make some real bad marcks on your carpet.

Cheers for the heads-up K!! I know this is going slightly OT but do you mean 'indentation' marks, or actual black rubber marks. :ouch:

She's always banging on about getting a new carpet for that room so you may have saved me a good few hundred quid with this post! Thanks!

I ordered a Wheel stand Pro the same day GT5 was released, and they sent me an email within 24 hours saying there was a 3 week lead time because of a large volume of orders.

They did send my order within the time they stated, sent the correct tracking number, delivery was fine.

The product is very well built and uses quality componants, I would recommend it to anyone.

ordered week before GT5, received 1st week of December, it works remarkably well and has an extremely high WAF!

I bought this 6 years ago for $30 and still use it to this day.

Just lock the flip-top in the horizontal position (run a bolt through the pre-drilled holes and tighten with a nut) and rotate the top 90 degrees and viola!

Mine came today. I need to get a bolt and wing nut to tighten up on it. Wing nut because I have a small apt and need to fold it up while not playing. But you saved me about $135. Thanks. Just like he says, pull the center piece out rotate and bam its almost like it was custom made for the wheel. Very stable once I get a bolt through where the pin lock is. Such a good idea it deserves its own thread. Wheelstand alternative
