I download music of Winmx and a few other P2P apps. Although stuff I don't like gets deleted and stuff I like gets bought.

My CD collection consisted of about 4 CD's before all these P2P apps came about. Now I have about 90 or so CD's and i'm still buying more.

Edit:And I don't know what they can do to me, because (bedause? what the **** was I thinking?, oh I need to learn how to type properly) I don't live in America.

As if it weren't enough, they decided to hike CD prices as well. 30 goddamn bucks for a round piece of plastic with 40 minutes of music in it. Ri-di-cu-lous. And they wonder why no one buys CDs anymore. Well, i still do, but much less often than before.

That's 30 Canadian dollars, right? that's about £13.50 or so I think. Although the average price for a CD here is about £12, which isn't too bad. Although when you buy 4 or 5 CD's I suppose it does come to quite a bit.

The reason why Cd are worthless is because rarely 1 or 2 songs are good. The rest of them are crap, with the exception of all the Garbage albums.

Yeah, that'd be Canadian dollars. I guess it's all relative to the economy. Still, i remember when i could buy CDs for 20$ not so long ago.

30 bucks...i wish old school rap and acid jazz/techno/trance came that cheap...a decent ministry of sound compilation will run me approx 50 bucks. i listen to alot of old rap too...those cds are very expensive too

Now lets be clear here we're probably breaking the GTP AUP and I fully expect this thread to get deleted.....

However I think you have to compare risk with reward to be honest. How many Kazaa downloads compared to how many arrests and convictions. That gives your basic risk ratio i guess... But i certainly have stopped random downloading but i still use it to "preview" album tracks but they have a very short life expectancy on my hard disk.

If you're worried search the internet for program that you can link to your desktop that will erase your hard disk with a double click.

there are 1 or 2 apps around that block off riaa, but no guarantees through them.

the only surefire way to prevent being sued is by not downloading, buying mp3 cds from pakistan or any similar country where this is legal* (see note at bottom), or living outside of riaa jurisdiction. at this point, that means outside of the USA.




though it is legal to buy from that country because of the country's lack of copyright laws, it is illegal to bring it into the US for the obvious reason that the RIAA doesn't get money from these mp3 cds
