I serfed through the forum, but couldn't find anything. It's something that confuses me, but it seems that by choosing certain cars, you get to race against one opponent instead of the usual 5. Specifically i chose a Z4 and i had to race an S2000. I'm also trying to find a way of having a photoshoot from a race replay instead of going round in circles by my self. If anyone can help on any of these subjects it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx:)

As far as I know, the only races where you race against a single car are the special conditions races (rallies), and the first few driving missions. I don't think what car you select has anything to do with it.

To do a photo shoot from a race replay, once the race is over, you have to save the replay. Then go to Replay Theater and playback the saved replay. When you get to a spot you want to take a picture, press Select.

First of all, for future reference you should use the search feature. both questions can easily be found.

Racing against one or multiple opponents is only in Arcade Mode. In Simulation Mode convertibles will have their tops up and "special cars" cannot enter certain races.

To get photos of multiple cars racing save your replay and then watch it in replay theater. In replay theater the replays all act like Photomode replays.

Simple sweet and done. Use the search feature from now on.

Are the admins not monitoring new threads anymore?

Hey Mr. MiniModWannabe, he's not looking for questions....he's looking for ANSWERS! Get it?

I doubt it.

And I did give him answers. I was merely pointing him towards the search feature for future reference. Afterall, it is proper etiquette. Considering I didn't call him names or just leave him hanging with that I felt I was being polite.

So, just chill out.

BTW, I do get it, which is why I gave him answers, not flames.

None taken foolkiller. I always try to use the search feature, but i can't say that it is the best one i have seen... It always results in loads of threads, pages and pages. But i do appreciate your help.

As far as my first problem, with the opponent number, i was trying it last night. Having a Z4 with the top open, on Trial mountain, you race against 1 opponent. If you have it closed, you race against 5. I tried it with lots of tracks, and trully, that is what happens. I'll record the replay after such a race and even the process before the race and show it to you.

I agree with you there but I find that telling it to display as posts instead of threads helps me to find what I am looking for quicker. Just a tip I stumbled across by just playing around one day while bored.

So... i have some videos available at the following address:

ftp://82.102.71.182

**make sure that in Internet Explorer-->Tools-->Internet Options-->Advanced the tickbox that says "Use Passive FTP for Firewall & DSL modem compatibility" is turned OFF**

Username: gt4
Password: gt4

You should see some of my gt4 videos that i made. Download the following:
topoff
topclosed
nonconvertible ,

and tell me what you think as far as the oppenent logic is concerned. I havent figured it out yet... They are about 5mbytes each and my upload speed is around 15kbytes/s so it should take around 10 minutes a video.

Thanx for the help in advance

Basically the reason why you only get one opponent with a top down is because the PS2 can't handle the graphics of the entire inside of your car and the driver with motion and five other cars at once. If you do simulation mode the tops are always up unless you are in practice or photomodes. There are certain "special" cars that it won't even let you enter in any races because they don't have a top option.

That's basically the reasoning behind the difference in opponents. It's just a matter of processing capabilities.

After watching Sony's E3 press conference and PS3 unveiling I am thinking it won't be an issue in the future.
