Every other major game has already patched their title with the new PSSR2 version months ago now, yet GT still nothing !?

Fot those confused YES the option is IN the PS5 PRO settings, you can toggle it but the game still HAS to be optimized specifically for it to work it's best.

Its supposed to increase the upscaling resolution and sharpness noticeably, and best of all finally get rid of that stupid shimmer you get with the ray tracing on.

The ray tracing shimmer is probably because PD aren't casting many rays to save on performance (or something like less ray casting). A native PSSR 2 implementation could allow them to drop resolution and increase the rays, which could help.

Pssr2 will not reduce ray tracing shimmering. For that we would neet to get AI Denoiser and ps5pro doesn't have it (and rather won't have it, it will be ps6 feature, its currenlty available only on nvidia rtx cards).

Yeah, to reiterate others, the RT shimmer is due to the lack of a decent (computationally expensive) RT denoiser. It’s why RE Requiem has RT issue too. Will PS5 Pro ever feature RT ray reconstruction which can mitigate this issue? I doubt it seeing as it’s seems to be a feature exclusive to nVidia GPUs (for now). PS6 maybe.
 
No specific update or patch is required to apply the updated version of PSSR (popularly known as 2.0) to GT7, as the game was already included in the system update whitelist. This means that PSSR 2.0 improvements have been available in GT7 since the day the feature was activated in the March firmware release.

While it may be further optimized in a future patch, PSSR 2.0 has been active in GT7 on PS5 Pro since March.

ps5 pro should support the AMD Ray Regeneration but maybe not yet enabled or something?
AMD are currently saying RR requires RDNA 4 GPUs, but PS5 Pro only has RDNA 2 (albeit with some 3 and 4 features). However, given FSR4 tech has helped with PSSR2, who knows whether RR could be done. I imagine if it is, PD will be one of the first to leverage it given they were quick to adopt the Pro’s RT capabilities.
