When was your first car accident?

Some retarded woman drove into the back of my Sera today. :( Once again, I was sitting at a red light and the Jeep behind banged into me. The entire rear bumper will have to be repaired and resprayed. Grrrrr.

Oversped a corner and slid into the guard rail. Was 17 I think and was driving my first miata.

Actually, I just realized I had an incident before that  I was driving my stepdads 98 civic ex out of the parking lot after work. Attempted to "briskly" drive out of it without realizing that it suddenly dropped 2 feet into a grass field. I drove off the lot, crashed (2 ft. slope) back onto it and t-boned a parked Geo SUV hard enough to spin it around almost 90 degrees. I must've hit the Geo's rear solid axle just perfectly as to not damage anything on it. Not even body damage around the quarter panel. The owner of the Geo said the car drove fine. I don't even think they contacted their insurance.

I had my first accident when I was taking a right turn on red and then the other person was running a yellow left and then they tried to get into my lane right away and hit me... they also didnt have insurance.

The more my fault one was when my buick brakes were garbage and I couldnt stop in time when someone cut the person in front of me off.

Mine was when I was 17. Wasn't much of an accident; a lady in a Ford crossover pulled out of a driveway and, not seeing me (I assume), aimed for my passenger door. I floored the loud pedal and she just barely clipped the corner of the rear bumper. I was more pissed off than anything, especially since she never stopped.

I did have one ice-induced near miss last winter though. The route I take to school features an intersection at the bottom of a hill where the road ends, and on the other side is a lake. I locked the brakes on the descent (I was driving a Ford Escort with no ABS), and instead of heading off the road and into the lake, I pulled the handbrake and drifted around the corner safely.

:(

I hate drunk drivers... stay strong.

ThaNks man means a lot, hit em at 75mph head on, wrapped them around a pole. They had no chance. Made me angry more than anything.

I hope you didn't have to see that. My condolences.

Yeah, it was dark and it literally ran right into my car. I didn't even have time to brake. :indiff:

At least I was in my minivan. If it had been my GT-R, I would probably need a new front splitter.

My dad had a close call with a dog, stopped just in time, right after he changed the brakes too. Lucky, I guess.

I'm very sorry to hear that.
Its ok, it happens. I've lost a fair amount of people in the last year and a half, so I'm pretty paranoid for others.

It was right up the road from me, completely obliviated their minivan. It was a green Chevy Silverado that hit them. 2 were ejected from the front windshield, thrown about 50 feet into a corn field. At the time, I didn't know who was there, until the phone call....I dropped my cell phone....

I've never been in an accident any way (I can't drive yet), but I have had a close call as a passenger. My mom was driving (thankfully my dad taught her how to drive...she's not an annoying doesn't-know-how-to-drive woman) and we were nearing home. I think it was a GMC of some sort was swerving into our lane, and my mom literally had to swerve into the ditch on the side of the road. Next thing, you hear *BANG*! The GMC slammed head on into the PT Cruiser behind us. It was really scary...

Three months ago, when I tried to get my driver's license for minors (those that if you crash and you have the fault, your parents have to pay to repair the damage), I was in a traffic light junction and it was a green light for me, so I started driving and some dude in a civic ignored the red light he had and crashed me in the front left of the car. Nothing happened to me but when the airbag hit me it was so painful , I failed because I didn't complete the test, I'll give another try around my birthday :)👍

Today, got rear ended after I stopped at a green to allow the intersection to clear. Not much damage, might post pictures in my thread later.

Agh!! That sucks man, did they damage your new lights?

Nah man, just the bumper and muffler by the looks of it. Here's a picture that i'll post in the thread too (it's kinda dodgey).

Been driving for 4 years and only had one accident 2 months ago. I basically got T-boned while exiting a roundabout by an idiot that fell asleep at the wheel.

Sucks when an accident is not your fault! Especially when the car involved is your pride and joy. I think about that every time I'm on the road.

My first and only accident (knock on wood) was a little over a year ago. Some jackass turned in front of me and I t-boned him. Both cars were totaled

I've never had an accident, mainly because I've only driven a few thousand miles so far, in my parents' cars. However, I'll never forget when some idiot backed into our car when I was about four years old. Not much damage, but as we were moving the paint on the side of the car was totally ruined.

On the 605 freeway in LA county, California. It was my fault. I was arguing with my gf and I rear ended a white Civic. It went sliding across the freeway. Fortunately nobody was injured.

Crashed against a VW Transporter (Kindly called Combi here in México) the very first day mom lend me the car:scared:... was a big trauma for me though :nervous:... I declined driving about a year or so, until I entered driving lessons again... :)👍

Never looked back ever since :dopey:
