They announce that GT5 will be making a select number of standard cars into premium. They relased this statment right after release of game and here it is a month later and no news or info on it. To me it seems that PD would have made this a top priority instead of working on making it so you can rewind your replay and make all the damage freaks happy. I mean is this gonna happen? Yeah, I understand the process @ PD of making these cars in a game of this caliber is a work load, but they need to inform us on the process, just like they did before the release of the game. To me the game is a 95% sucsess and the other 5% is standard cars. If there is anything I want to see out of PD in the next few weeks is some news on where this is going. I don't care about improved online play, replay control or even seasonal events and online dealerships. Tell me what you guys think.

I agree that they should be informing us on their progress, perhaps weekly or fortnightly atleast. PD should make a blog or something here on gtplanet, I mean it couldnt be that hard to get just 1 person to take 5 minutes to inform us on whats going on.

considering that it took them 5 years to make how many premium cars, i'm not expecting an update any time soon

I hope they were close to finishing some premium cars which didn't make it for the november 24th release but which could be finished about now. Preferably some of the cars that were important in GT1.

They also have to add the latest SEMA winner at some point but I couldn't care less about that car.

I think you need to be patient. The time PD spend on telling everyone what they're doing could be better spent on actually doing it.

How much would it require? I'm sure someone at PD is briefing Sony about their progress. Personally, I just think they want to suprise people with patches that come out of the blue.

I'll much rather they under promise and over deliver, my current expectation is they won't do it at all.

That's very true. They spent the last 5 years talking about GT5 instead of actually working on it and we've all seen how that turned out.
:sly:

IMO I couldn't care less about the whole premium/standcar car BS, just drive with bumper cam as I do, it's way better then cockpit view, PD should really focus on giving us new tracks and NEW cars, not refined standards, new cars COMPLETLY.

I think that in truth even Yamauchi-san couldn't tell you what EXACTLY will be in the next patch. I imagine that they're working on a number of features/additions/fixes but don't have a timetable that tells them which specific patch each one will be ready for.

Like a lot of people here I don't really think that the game is broken, any features/upgrades added by patch are simply a bonus.

What I want to know is how the chuff PD are making any money? I mean if they have to keep making updates to keep this game up there with the best how are they going to profit?
Sure they will sell millions of games but surely after the costs of 5 years R-and-D plus constant updates they will loose there profit?
I mean I dont care about them making money in the sense I want them to be rich, but I would like a GT6 at some stage lol

I'd love to see them upgrade the standard cars to premiums. You lot seem to think it will take them ages to do this, when actually it wouldn't take long at all for the modelers, especially simply upgrading the already done standards. They could probably make most of the standard cars premiums 6 months as well as updating with entirely new cars.

Sure the bumper cam is okay, but to be honest a lot of people out there like to be in the drivers seat, me included - especially when u have Playstation eye to look around the cockpit.

They did kinda screw us stating there would be close to a thousand cars, when actually the bulk of that are only standard cars. I did feel a bit gutted when i found that out. So im all in for them working on this, they could do all the rest of the fixes along side, they are a big company, and believe me, they have made a rediculas profit from all this. :)

Put it this way, the people who model cars aren't the same people who do coding for features and bug fixes, so in this case you can have your cake and eat it too - you just need to be patient.

I think if I had informed updates I would play more as I would know what im expecting and when - if they included some surprises then that would keep us happy.

At the moment I havent played GT5 in a long time - mostly due to getting kinect at christmas but still, I have no urge to play it. Whereas if I knew what was coming i'd maybe play to save up some cash for the new cars etc....

PD isnt one person. The person that's slaving on modelling the new cars is not going to be the guy that informs the public on what they're working on.

That said; off course we need to stay informed. I must say PD does an okay job with letting us know when updates are beiing done (downtime) and give us (be it a very brief) description on what was in the updates or what was adressed...

And i dont you agree that its more important to have a solid and reliable game experience, rather then having your favourite standard car as a premium but not being abel to play online, do tuning on it, gift it to mates, take pics of it.

Heck, i would rather have them fix the "fully customisable transmission" which isnt customisable at all, and be able to save my tunes then have more cars at the moment!!

I think it's hilarious that anybody would be pissed about the number of "premium" cars at all. There could just have easily been no such thing as a premium car and we'd just be sitting here wishing for more standard cars.

TBH, i don't really care if they upgrade them to premium or not. A "majority" of the standards look good as they are. The only thing I care about is PD adding MORE tracks (especially midfield and some of the older tracks) and adding the ability to change the wheels on standards. I'm praying that would happen in the next update.

Agreed...although there are a few cars I'd like to see added (particularly Race Mods to more existing cars), the return of an updated Midfield, Seattle and Apricot Hill and a lot of the other old tracks would be much more welcome to me than a bunch of new premiums because I use bumper cam anyway. And yes, make it so we can change wheels on standards.👍

For me i don't care so much on the standard cars... Well some of the standard cars i wanna see in premium version, or maybe improved... Also i wanna more premium different cars and not TOO MUCH PREMIUM SKYLINE !!!
Like BryantFC in GT5 i hope some old tracks like midfield, twin ring motegi , complex string

If you look at games like Iracing, the cars all look like standards from GT5. Admmittedly a lot if not all, have cockpit view, but the cars in GT5 all do look fairly good. The only reason we want more is because they set the standards for these cars quite high, what with these premiums looking so "I just ****** my pants" awesome.

Personally, I feel that the already premium ones will do, as the premium selection are actually good enough for me and quite a few others. I barely pop into the UCD purely because if I want a car to fit a spec, I'll most likely find it in the NCD!!

i think they Should Make Premium The Countach, Bugatti Veyron, Audi R8 LMS and other Les Mans Classics like the Minolita and The Sauber Mercedes.
