Well GT4 took me 2 months to complete 100% (with a 100% win ratio :sly:) and I have a job that requires more time, I'll be helping with some OLR stuff I'm sure and I'll be making notes as I go to compile a GT5 FAQ for GameFAQs.com. I'm hoping to be done in under 6 months, 4 months is the goal as of now :scared: Fingers crossed there is nothing like Mission 34! Or if there is, hopefully it's minus the insane wait between attempts.

I'm actually going to make sure I finish every race I start, regardless of the result. I want to get a proper win ratio this time, no 500 restarts. I'll be able to gauge my talent better that way. Yes it will take a bit longer, but I'll learn more in the end.

I agree with that. Besides, before I used to do whatever it took to win, including cheap and dirty manoeuvers. Now I'm more interested in racing cleanly, and finish even if the result is poor.
In the end I'll probably need one geological age to finish the game

I think I had to restart 5 times IIRC....had to re-do some race series' and only saved my game between race series'. However, that means I didn't really have many 200 point races :p

I'm the same way syagre. I admit I slammed the lead car off the track in Mission 34 to take the lead, even with the penalty (I hit him REALLY hard, haha), because it seemed like it was so hard, I had to. I'm far more interested in clean racing now, especially with the smarter AI. I'm only cheating myself if I cut corners or bump people off track. Now, there are drawbacks to both of those (damage and penalties), so I'm inclined to prevent myself from doing so.

I'll probably finish it on December 21st 2012. Just in time for the Mayan apocalypse.

Ha Ha so you will lean back in the game chair and say YESSSSSSSNOOOOOOOOO then silence will fall upon this world on the downside well never get to play GT6 :)
21/12/12 that day will be a strange one I think

i will never try to 100%, i will get as far as i need to in single player then move over to multiplayer full time, same as i did in forza 1 & 2

2 million credits, Is your garage so full you can't add anymore cars:sly:. Then yes you finished. The only game on the PS3 I've got 100% is Dirt 2.

Don't forget all gold in all events. GT5P is the only GT game I will probably ever finish. Especailly with two little kids in the house that like to push the eject button if I leave the PS3 plugged in. That makes it impossible to finish an endurance race unless I buy new furniture. Hopefully you can save and turn off the system, I know I'm not the only one with that opinion.

I'll see what GT Life and online mode will offer once I get the game, then I'll be able to determine this. ;)

Probably quicker than Kaz took to finish it.

Yeah finishing this game is gonna be hard, It will have my full attention untill something better comes around.

And speaking of Kaz I've always wondered if he ever has the time to sit down and play through his games? Or is he too busy working on the next game?

Because it's funny...

Last GT I finished 100% was GT2. GT3 I had one endurance left, and same with GT4. Technically I still haven't beat Prologue because I still need to own two cars (GTbyC and F2007).

Like Dave said, I'd need to know the size of the game before I can make a true guess, but seeing as how it's most likely larger than GT4, I doubt I'll ever finish. Unless our B-Spec buddies have improved from their idiocy in GT4; I definitely wasn't doing that last 24H enduro myself, but literally every time I let Bob do it, he fudged it up, so I just gave up on 100%. If they can actually pass without bumping into the back end of the car infront... perhaps I'll have 100% afterall.

i don't understand this quote, i cant think of any mainstream game that takes longer to finish than it does to make :indiff:

Well I think people here are using two definitions for finished, one is 100% complete and the other is when people will stop playing it.
But to be fair GT games typically do take a long time to complete 100%, for me at least. Plus I try to make games last a long time rather that playing through as fast as possible.

Edit: I dont think i've completed any GT game come to think of it, but I played them all to death.

I'll do it in 3 months. Twice. I'm gonna tell my friends to **** off for 3 months, I don't want to see anyone, just enjoy the memories.

I am expecting a lot of playing time on this game. Just the sim mode should longer than any GT game before it, then you have all the arcade challenges, and the B-spec challenges. You also have to get all those pesky licenses. But the jewel in GT5's crown is the online. 1000 cars x 70 tracks x car customization = :dopey:👍👍👍:dopey:

Hard to say, not knowing yet how well the career mode is put together. But a game that took 6 years to create, I would hope takes me longer than a few months to complete. Some things like laps counts I would hope to be increased, that way getting through Sunday Cup doesn't take a half our. :)

My poll was intended to mean finish 100% of gameplay excluding online unless trophies are needed online. A-spec driving Let "BOB" drive if you wish but also doing all races A-spec. I'll add this to OP.💡

Probably won't. The only game I have ever finished is GT5p!
Same here. I still have to do all the endurance races in GT4, which I won't have time to do until my massive vacation in the fall.

Other than enduros, I have a feeling it could take three years for me to do everything else in GT5.

I'll be in no rush to complete it. Once I'm a fair bit in and have a good collection of cars I'll spend a lot of time in arcade mode cruising around tracks like the Ring, Monza, hopefully Spa, etc.

When will I finish GT5?

Well, that depends, if the save file corrupts at every month or so, never, otherwise, I'll probably finish it within the first year.

I put down a year. I think I can get all the championships minus the endurance races done in a month or 2. The manufacturer and endurance races will take a good amount of time. I'm wondering how long the special events will take too, since they have a level system.

I hated Mission 34.......

On a side note though, I will never be finished with it. Cause like GT4 the replay value is pretty high.

I chose door #5, finishing by the time GT6 comes out (yeah, right, as if that will ever happen. I have to live that long first.)

Never. I'll probably get bored/mad at career after I buy all the cars I want. Then I'll just drive them as I please, like I did with prologue and every other game I own. I never finish any games. :boggled:

I'm in no rush completing GT5 because I dont buy games often and only buy a new game after beating the other. Thanks to GT5 I'm gonna save 60 bucks here and there..
