When you get GT5... What's your plans?

I intend to make up for lost time VERY quickly if possible, so I intend on transferring ALL of my cars from Prologue and GT PSP, going online and staying there indefinitely.

This brings up an important question that went unanswered even in the "news chat" thread:

Have any of the GT5 leakers tried to transfer their garages, and if so how well does it work? - for example I have almost 2,000 cars on the PSP and I'm maxxed out on Prologue, so I'm not sure I want to instantly dump ALL of them into GT5 at once because it could take FOREVER depending on exactly how the process works.

If anyone has information about the actual final product implementation of garage transfer, please post here or link

Thanks!

Get the fridge and microwave upstairs , setup my race seat , put my TV and wheel on the right position , and while installing , read the APEX book , check out the Sig edition stuff etc. and fill the fridge with some energy , buy a truckload of microwave food , and play till dawn. Get some sleep , start playing again till dawn. :)
Oh , and try out the TopGear test and scream 'POWERRRRRRR' while power sliding and making donuts with a Gallardo.

I won't be able to play the game till next month, but after installing, I will:
Read the Apex book
Watch the intro again in full HD glory
Thumb through the car selections
Get at least one license
See what I can do with the chromeline cars and retailer bonus cars
Try tracks
Kart
Race
TG Test Track
Show my dad how the game works (maybe)
Read the Apex book

Well first off I won't be on this website :)

I'll probably check out the used car lots and see what I can get for my 20k or whatever and then if there are races that you can run without first doing a drivers test I'll probably run a couple and then head over to the drivers tests and complete one or two of those then more racing.

Of course I wll take to time to check out everything on the menus that is not locked and take a peek at the online options as well.

One things is for sure. I will be a busy fellow for a while :)

I wonder it the 67 Cougar will still be the prize car for the super license.

0. Setup newly bought racing seat
1. Blow the dust off my wheel
2. plug in my PS3
3. insert game
4. Play whatever I need to play to get all cars and tracks
5. Race Online
6. Eventually Finish game
7. Get a life...

0. racing seat will be here next week (Obutto), G27 will be setup on it next Friday, prior to GT5 release.
1. Get a nice night's sleep, be at my local Gamestop at 10 AM knocking on the door to buy my copy.
2. install
3. licenses
4. awesomeness
5. 4 more days of awesome (Wednesday through Monday)
6. go back to work :(
7. play GT5 :)
8. go back to work :(

etc.

I have nothing to do this Thanksgiving break, very convenient that GT5 comes out Wednesday... gonna play the hell out of this game for a few days. Playing it on my 27" iMac, which unfortunately only supports 720p inputs atm, but it is still going to be a beautiful sight. :)

if my gamestop is doing a midnight release, I'll get it then and stay up til like 5am. skip class that day and do time trials until I become number one at a track, then take photo, enjoy it for the 5 minutes that lasts, then set up custom soundtracks, then get licenses and transfer my gt psp car collection over. also, masterbate to the quality of GT5s graphics

I just bought the Obutto too. :P 👍

And I was about to buy a Playseat Evo... So glad I found a better option.

And now looking into getting a 46 inch LED HDTV for the racing rig.

I have everything in the world for my 20 credit hours due on Tuesday 11/23 and no class on Wednesday.

Assuming I get GT5 in the mail Wednesday early afternoon, I will stay up all night Tuesday and try to stay awake until ~5AM. Then I will try to wake up at 2PM and have GT5 hopefully immediately after. I'll then brew coffee and play as long as I can until I pass out. I think I'll be playing for quite a damn while.

Hrm well I was planning to browse the dealerships first and see all the new cars but since the list was revealed that probably won't be as exciting, but I will probably....

1) Browse all the cars anyway, to see how well they've been modeled for about an hour
2) Check out the used car dealership
3) Browse through pretty much every menu in the game to see what's new
4) Get at least a few licenses
5) RACE!!

Oh.. and completely AVOID arcade mode altogether. Why would you want to jump right into the best cars before earning them? Totally ruins the surprise/fun imo. I love when you're driving your tuned Civic and you 'think' it's fast then you eventually get a Viper or something and you're like omfg, THIS is fast... and then you get a GT1... you get the idea.

I will most likely get the game at midnight if there is a midnight release nearby, then stay up a few hours and do some license tests. I will then most likely go to bed and wake up. Once awake i will log onto gtplanet and read some posts that will more than likely make me feel very inadequate indeed. :)

Im sure you will get the usual ones who post they are at 85% already and when asked to prove it they suddenly dissapear. Things never change really .

Oh and yes i will avoid Arcade mode as per. I really hate that, and ive never ever played it in any of the GT games. I sure wont be starting that now we are at GT5.

Pretty much this.👍

Call sick for the rest of the week the previous night
Probably make an unboxing video of the Sig version
Look at it for a while and read all the ****
Realise that the games actually out and I actually can play it
Move mini fridge to side of TV, stock up on cold drinks
Set up DFGT smack infront of the TV
Close doors, Fire the beast up
Watch whatever beautiful intro there is, and the demo clips
Realise again that it's not a HD YT video I'm watching
Play
Play
Play
Realise 12 hours later its like 5am and I havn't slept
Play more

[1] Import Gamestop's pre-order bonuses, but not use them for a while.
[2] Import only my funds (credits) from GT5P if it will let me. Except for two Gamestop cars, I want the rest of my garage to start off naked.
[3] Practice by playing in Arcade mode so I can be familiar with the cars and the tracks. The way it looks, GT5 has changed dramatically since I once played the GT Academy Time Trial Challenge.
[4] Go straight to the license tests.
[5] Grind to LV20 A-spec and LV10 B-spec at a minimum.
[6] Complete all racing events
[7] Complete all special events
[8] Complete all manufacturer events

Level 20 A-Spec and Level 10 B-Spec? Seems like a low target. I intend to get max level at both. I also intend to smoke a lot of people online and will likely get smoked by a lot of people online. Should be fun :)

Plug in my G27
Make sure that cars I download get sent to my arcade garage, not my GT5 Career garage.
Test out a few of the track settings
Host the "Endurothon"!
Play the Career mode some or go to sleep.
