yea i knoe this convo boosted my posts but i dont really care i just need more feed back on this topic

Well - best not to be too specific I guess!

I would just tell him about generic pressures - you know, pressure from friends to join gang, feeling like you're losing control, want to get your schooling back on track, that sort of stuff.

If you get him on your side, it's one less source of stress (and possibly a very important source of support).
 
i agree with vat man, geez AZN, you got some serious issues you need to straighten out
 
support i dont think that would very lucky...plus if he knew that i was going to potentialy join a gang i would never leave that house i think or i would be kicked out..........

oh my faulght umm my dad really dont play that much of a role in my life just pays for my lunch and christmas presents
 
True - but (man this is going to sound so corny) a long journey back must begin with a single step. AznAbyss86 has probably taken that first step of getting advice.

Good luck, man. It's going to be a long and tough road, but it's your life, man - you gotta take it back and do what you want, not what someone else wants.
 
yes i do even my uncle rob thinks so i dont even think my step mother would be able to talk him to letting me come back home what would i do then.......

well it is a yes or no question but along the way to each the are a bunch of buts and what ifs.........
 
Time to come back to the family fold, mate. I think it's probably your best bet. Family is the best support in a time of crisis.
 
my family dont really support me and my decision i have always turned to others and one of my closest fren for adice and right now all he will tell is that its my life my choice and the road i want to take
 
Joining a gang would be really stupid. Do you realize that most gang initiations involve you getting the **** beat out of you? I mean beat out of you; they'll all knock the **** out of you until you're on the ground, and that's where they'll proceed to kick the **** out of you.:nervous: Initiation alone would be a big enough deterrent for me.

If you're friends are only telling you things like, "It's your life, so it's your decision, or, "Do whatever you want to do," then I'd find some new "friends" if I were you. Real friends would step in and prohibit you from doing stupid **** in life like joining gangs, not tell you to do whatever you wanna do.
 
I think real friends would let him make his choice. If he ask them for an opinion then they should give him one but i think that he's mature enough to make a desicion like this by himself. I would appreciate my frieds not acting like my parents and telling me what i can and cannot do.

My opinion is i think it would be cool to be part of a "family" like that. Having every1 willing to risk their lives to protect your. But thats my opinion as i stated before.
 
i can get out getting the **** beat out of me just one hit to the chest is all i have to take to get in

Being a college grad I feel I've got something to add: You definitely do not need to go to college!!!
My brother is making over 100,000 grand right now in real estate with only HS diploma. There are just so many options for making a good deal of money without college... get into business or real estate somehow. For this though I suppose you'd have to make new friends, eh? For now, ignore your dad cause he's not gonna change...

Also, sounds like you really don't want to join (cause you're so uncertain) but the pressures of your life are forcing you there to find family/friends... screw that man! Don't let your circumstances force you into anything! Especially not this - Trust the statistics on the average life of gang members. Do you want to live long and see your grandkids? Do you even want to have grandkids?

Lastly, you came here looking for advice and I've seen above this here post that about 90% of the people say don't join for a chance at a 'better' life. There you have it.

Right, but my personal preference is to not have my life in such dire need of protecting. He already said it wouldn't be a big deal if he didn't join...

Everyone of my friends, and everyone in my real family would do anything to protect me, and I don't ever recall having to let any of them beat the **** out of me.:reallyodd



I love the fact that my friend's threaten to beat my ass if I consider doing illegal things, and not just saying, "go for it, it's your decision dude."
 
Good b/c i wasnt planning on heading to college.
