Hey everyone, I'm looking for a racing series/league to join to further improve my driving on the track. I'm fairly good at racing, and I'm a clean racer.

Most of the OPs here barely make any sense to me, since they talk about some club ranking system or some kind of approach they take.

I just want some racing league that is simple, with varied types of PP racing (Japanese classics, Kei cars, V8s, etc, etc) and also has clean racers.

I know these threads most probably appear everyday, and I respect your view of the 'oh for gods sake here we go again' mantra, but acknowledge that I have racing experience, and there's so many leagues here, I'd just like some input on where I should start.

P.S. Was brought here because of the PURE thread... I didn't understand how that worked, lol.

At this point in the game, most established Leagues or Groups have fairly lengthy OP's because they've gone through a lot of aches and growing pains and decided what needs to be spelled out. Tough to avoid, and in fact, I'd avoid any League or Group that has an OP that is brief and not very well laid out.

At DeadNutEven our OP is just as complicated but I'll shorten it for you. Each week we have a target time, and tire options. Tune or adjust any car you like to meet but not exceed the target and come racing. Everyone one in the race, whether he's an experienced pro, mid-packer, or usually bringing up the rear, will be able to run exactly the same lap time as you. It's without a doubt the closest, most competitive racing possible on GT5 and a great training ground for all kinds of racing.

If that's not for you there are plenty of other options in the Clubs and Leagues. 👍

Nope, that sounds exactly like the kind of thing I want to participate in.

Thanks for explaining in laymen terms. 👍

I'll check your thread out.

Check out The Green Kingdom. We are going to be running endurance races on the nürburging and soon more tracks will be added. multi-class racing based off of cars and classes from the real Nürburging of 24 hr. let me know what you think.

ORDL have a page on their website that fully explains the regulations in simplistic form. The current open series allows cars upto 650 PP and we are about to start our first championship using a lexus rm. Have a look at our website, its still under construction http://onlineracedrivingleague.weebly.com/ if you have any questions PM me.

Thanks for the replies guys, haha.

I'll check out all the threads. :)

I notice you're from the UK, many events here run at US times & will start in the early hours of the morning for us!

I run a club for UK/Euro timezone drivers called Stock Club. It's very simple; we use untuned cars, & we all drive to the same standards of cleanliness, namely the SCR. I choose the cars, track & time, you choose to turn up if you want to, & it's first come first served.

I've tried to make my OP as consice as possible, but without leaving out necessary information. Have a read through & see if it's your cup of tea old chap! :D

I dont know if you are still looking dor a home but some changes have been made with ORDL and it is about as simple as you will find, 3 tiers for different skill levels with varying events in each. Our threads on GT Planet are more for discussion than setting out the rules with the OP just giving info on the event happening in that series. We still need some drivers to get it propperly established. Feel free to look at the updated site via my signature and again, any questions pm me.

Cheers
Kris

@ BkS: I posted a couple of adverts on your profile visitor messages for a couple of races in planning.

I get where you're coming from because I've just been looking for some racing (other than my own), and it's kind of hard sometimes to figure out the basics.

I think we need a "guide to posting online racing events". ha ha

It would basically just say, of course, right off the bat, to save everyone time figuring out if they're interested or not to include the basics of when, what, where, how!

When I post threads for events, I try to prioritize this information and make it clear.
As stated above.
(But I'm open to suggestions about how to make it clearer!!!)

  1. When - (including TIME ZONE!) - most important because if you can't make the time, nothing else matters!
  2. What - the cars, tracks, and basic regulations & procedures - because that's a big decider for people (so many kinds of cars in gt5!)
  3. Where - is it in someone's lounge? open lobby? club lounge? Have to know that in order to show up!
  4. How - any specific car regulations/specs, race regulation settings (aids allowed? damage?), and rules rules rules that will be expected to be followed - clean? how clean? dirty? casual? strict?
Anything else that needs elaboration can be put under the headings that spell out the basics, or further on in the post/thread.
But these are the things that people look at when making a decision on whether to join in.

And as I said, I welcome any suggestions on how to make the OPs of my threads clearer, so that everyone can decide quickly if they want to join us!
So let me know any tips to make things clearer!
