I just ordered a Miataroadster short shifter for the Miata and I am trying to locate a specific knob. I want a white ball, much like an old Chevy 4 speed ball. The catch is I have a 6 speed and I want the 6 speed H pattern on the ball. The best I have come up with was from a website called sickspeed.com but his have reverse up and to the left. The size I need is 10mm X 1.25. Any help would be appreciated.

This is a question more suited to forums based around modifying a car.

I can tell you where to get a round knob, but I don't know about the shift pattern.

Does the short shifter tell you the thread size you'll need or did you measure it. You could always make your own shift knob? I mean all you'd need would be a lathe, maybe a mill and then bore and tap for threads!!! :sly:

Yea its the same size as the stock one. 10mmx1.25. I emailed the Knobmeister and he can make me the one I want but he's not back until September 10th and we leave for Deals Gap on the 16th. I may order one from the site above.

I think youre looking for something like this right?

Available in white and you can get it blank or engraved with the shift pattern of you choice! Very heavy knob too... The 390g hybrid I had in my Si felt awesome.

Sadly the reverse lockout on my sti makes it impossible to transfer. :(

That said, they are height adjustable and have a system setup so the core of the ball can be changed to fit different diameter shifter shafts making it easy to transfer from one car to another (most of the time :irked: ).
