PS4. They are already using all the processing and memory power of the PS3.
I want decent shadows, smoke, and scenery to go along with the good driving physics, and that is going to require more machine than the PS3 can provide.
The PS3 video card just doesn't have the anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering capabilities necessary to convincingly create particle effects and smooth curvature.
I will have to disagree. I think PD just planned this game all wrong. Their intentions were good but they lacked quality due to more time spent in specific areas vs time being spent more effectively across the board.
For what its worth F1 2010 is a great under rated game. It has it flaws but their graphics are good, the game play is good, the weather system is perfect (compared to GT5). It has a 24 car grid so it will have its hick-ups. The career mode is good. Over all this is a great game. Codemasters will be releasing F1 2011 this fall on the PS3. I can bet you that if they fix all the flaws it had, after their first developed F1 game, it will be a near perfect game. They aren't using hardware excuses. They aren't talking about a PS4.
If Codemasters can pull it off, PD should get very close to doing the same. PD overly detailed too much in this game. They are trying too hard on the graphic side and it increases the power consumption needs, memory and graphic needs. If they did release on the PS4, its a new program they have to write for. There is a learning curve here. How much time would it take to put out GT6. They could have the same problems as they did with GT5 being released. They'd have 800+ cars to make premiums, redo all the old tracks, introduce new tracks, and fix all the option and feature problems that everyone is complaining about.
Besides if GT6 came out and it flaws as well, a lot of you all will be saying the same thing. Oh the PS4 can't handle it. We need a PS5. The same thing was said about the PS2 and now the PS3. The problem is the game developer. Always is, always will be IMO. If you know the limitations of the hardware, don't go beyond its limits and you will get a descent game in return.
