One thing is for sure - If GT6 doesnt come out on the PS3 then GT5 was the last GT I got because Im not going through all this again (PS4 - new Wheel And 6 years wait for 2 months worth of little fun)
I will probably go Forza and Xbox - if only microsoft had a decent wheel or fanatec a decent after sales service...

I also hope that GT6 makes it on PS3.

A little note though, I don't believe that GT2 was better than GT1 :)

I want GT6 to be what GT5 should have been, and I want it two years ago. Or it needs to come out before FM4 (not likely) to prevent me selling my PS3 and buying an Xbox 360

Gran Turismo 6 should be a launch title for the PlayStation 4. As mentioned before, GT5 already maxed out the PS3, so, I choose PS4. Plus, given the problems the PS3 is having right now (hacks, jailbreaks, etc) I think it's safer to put GT6 on the PS4.

PS4. I would like for PD to continue support and fix all GT5's issue (the one they can). I don't want my GT6 to have jagged edges and blocky shadow.

I want to so it on PS3 if for no other reason than it takes them forever to re-develop the engine around the new platform. I'd prefer GT6 to be an updated, upgraded, much more contented version of GT5. That's how they've always done it, give us GT6 in 2013 then turn your attention towards building the engine and physics around the new system.

I can definitely see GT6 being released towards the end of the PS3's life cycle.

Well what sony plans for this game is what they are doing with little big planet now, constantly changing it and adding to it and fixing any issues. so it could be quiet some time until they even think of a serious GT6 and no Grammar Nazis on my quiet thats all my computer would let me say. But i would say if they seriously did it it would be on the PS4 because simply by the time the perfectionist is ready to mention his work and another 3 years after that the PS4 will be out.

Hopefully GT6 will be released prior to the release of the PS4 and be available for the PS3. I hope we don't have to wait another 6 years...

I personally don't think will see PS4 for another 4-5 years. There gonna try to milk the PS3 for everything they can get. Hell, they're building/selling PS2's. I think once the production of PS2's ends. Then you'll see a PS4.

I sure as hell isn't going to buy another console for another GT, whose quality will be an unknown seeing how they handled GT5.

And anyone still remember the launch price of the PS3? I can't imagine how it will be for PS4, it will probably cost as much as a decent gaming PC. If I can sim race for that kind of budget I will just get a PC.

A GT6 with slightly more content, a revamped gameplay and all bug fixed on PS3 will be enough for me.

PS3.

PD has built a brilliant basic engine (physics, most of the graphics) and forgot to build a decent game around it. GT6 should just be tweaking this engine and creating a great GAME with new content. IOW, it should be like GT2 was to GT1 and GT4 to GT3.

If we wait for the PS4, PD will go back to the drawing board like they did with GT5 and build new physics and graphics engines from scratch to take full advantage of the new hardware. And that project will be so complex in itself that, like GT5, it will be massively late and come across as an engine demonstration with a half-hearted game thrown in.

Basically if PD screw up the next GT release they might as well turn out the lights forever. The only low-risk way of redeeming their reputation is to make GT6 a development of the GT5 engine. And it's the only way we'll see GT6 in a reasonable time frame.

PS4.
After 5-6 years we still don't have decent shadows, detailed landscapes and weather/time change for all tracks.

And that frankly is because someone had too high of an ambition and forget what hardware he is designing for.

If F12010 can pull it off.....GT6 can, if they cut back on native resolution, poly counts on places you don't see and optimize it more.

it's hopeless to chase for ever faster hardware to match Kaz's vision, imagine the install and loading time if GT6 comes with 500 premiums. It's time to forget the obsession on details and remember what a good racing game is about imo.

Where do you want GT6?

Shelved as a project not to be bothered with. The Gran Turismo series has had it's time at the top of the tree.

GT5's lacklustre performance has shown it's time to take a step back and bow out of the genre gracefully.

GT5's release has been a lot like the return to Formula One for Shumacher.

A once triumphant, record breaking, unbeatable force returns after a long break from whence it came, only to find that the level of competion has upped it's game and the king is no-longer seen as the dominant force to be feared, but is now just a scalp to be taken by the new pretenders to the throne.

PD has been complacent with it's own series and I think they should quit now before they embarass themselves anymore.

(Much like Mr Schumacher)

The PS3 still has a lot of juice to be squeezed out of it.

Sony will keep the PS3 strong while it has it's momentum going on.

And there's a lot PD can do to GT6 in the current platform. The whole game engine is ready. If you add more content and features, and fix the issues GT5 has, GT6 will be one damn fine game, even in the PS3.

GT5 should be updated and improved until the GT6 release (desired for PS4) through downloadables (free and $). Why do you want a similar game just with more premium cars and minor changes? Add them to GT5 and more events. There are parts of the game that aren´t exploited such us rally, etc

I find it hard to believe that PolyDigital would spend all that time/money on developing GT5 for the PS3 only to dump it after 1 major release and start working on a PS4 version.
GT5 is a good starting place for GT6 (Most complaints seem to be more Gameplay and content based and less problems with Physics/ Graphics)
Christmas of 2012 would seem to be a reasonable release date.

PS4. They are already using all the processing and memory power of the PS3.
I want decent shadows, smoke, and scenery to go along with the good driving physics, and that is going to require more machine than the PS3 can provide.
The PS3 video card just doesn't have the anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering capabilities necessary to convincingly create particle effects and smooth curvature.

I will have to disagree. I think PD just planned this game all wrong. Their intentions were good but they lacked quality due to more time spent in specific areas vs time being spent more effectively across the board.

For what its worth F1 2010 is a great under rated game. It has it flaws but their graphics are good, the game play is good, the weather system is perfect (compared to GT5). It has a 24 car grid so it will have its hick-ups. The career mode is good. Over all this is a great game. Codemasters will be releasing F1 2011 this fall on the PS3. I can bet you that if they fix all the flaws it had, after their first developed F1 game, it will be a near perfect game. They aren't using hardware excuses. They aren't talking about a PS4.

If Codemasters can pull it off, PD should get very close to doing the same. PD overly detailed too much in this game. They are trying too hard on the graphic side and it increases the power consumption needs, memory and graphic needs. If they did release on the PS4, its a new program they have to write for. There is a learning curve here. How much time would it take to put out GT6. They could have the same problems as they did with GT5 being released. They'd have 800+ cars to make premiums, redo all the old tracks, introduce new tracks, and fix all the option and feature problems that everyone is complaining about.

Besides if GT6 came out and it flaws as well, a lot of you all will be saying the same thing. Oh the PS4 can't handle it. We need a PS5. The same thing was said about the PS2 and now the PS3. The problem is the game developer. Always is, always will be IMO. If you know the limitations of the hardware, don't go beyond its limits and you will get a descent game in return.

It's not going to come out on PS3 and there really is no point to releasing another game on the ps3 since they can update this game through patches and dlc. Judging from the steep xp curve, PD expects us to play this game for a long time. We'll obviously have a better idea of what they have planned when the next update comes in a week or two.

I am actually quite ready for a PS4 now because it looks like PD has been future-proofing their car models. I imagine GT6 will have a very early release on the PS4.
