Where would you rank the new GT5 physics, from TT demo?

The title says it all. But what I'm most interested in is how the average GT player will rank GT5 compared to the GT players/real racing drivers.

LOL awesome graph, but its missing GTR and RFactor.

They're under 'Other PC sims' because there are quite a few good ones that outrank GT for realism.

Also i posted that before the poll was put up. In accordance with my graph i put <80%. But i would have put the same for iRacing so its inconsequential.

I voted 90 - 99% but come on now.. we all know the old Super Nintendo Mario Karts game is just so cool.

Edit: The Mario Karts part was sarcasm. I'm not serious.

Ah yea i missed that sorry...

i voted 80-89% anyway.

I loved Mario Kart on the 64.:guilty:

Also, <80%

less than 80%. Graphically and Driving physics on track is close to realism but pretty much everything else dissapoints so far, and will continue to do so after release. Anyone who thinks things like reverse light simulation will improve is a fool. Kaz cares not for reverse lights...which raises the question why does he care about brake lights?

80 - 89 % ... i think theres no way a game can reach 99% realism , not at home .. maybe a super freak simulator , with TRACKIR , 12 widescreen monitors , and hydraulic cage... with a logitech G200 .. :P

I want to answer less than 70% but I need to establish whether we're talking about just the physics or the tuning/car detail/landscape effects etc.

if you´re racing from exterior view, it would be weird the brake lights not work , the same way its weird when you got reverse without the reserve lights.. but how many times you got reverse in a race? I think thats the major point here...

Anyway, i think reverse lights will be in GT5... its such a easy thing to implement..

"I’m hoping our players won’t be caught up with minor details. If they pick at every little thing, nobody will be satisfied. It’s the overall evolution that will impress. Skidmarks (reverse lights in this case) should be of no concern. (He says with a laugh).”"
- Kazunori Yamauchi

This should get posted at the top of the page to remind people :sly: (I sure need reminding sometimes too :P)

I find that statement rather ironic since he does just that.(although the "He says with a laugh" means he may be being sarcastic)

GT5 is a 90%-99% simulation

until I try the full version (TT is fun but i need tyre wear fuel and so on)

I didn't vote, because I haven't played GT5 yet . Am I missing something or does everyone got their early copy of GT5?.

👍 Exactly! It is a little bit early for a thread like this, we don't even have a damn release date yet people!

EDIT: I will vote when I finally get to play GT5. DUH!

Actually, you are missing something. If you had read the question for the pole you would have noticed it's for the TT demo.

Same goes for you Cletus.

It's just that it's pointless to vote now, who knows if the final product's physics will be different than the TT.

Perfect, just perfect!:lol::lol::lol::lol:. Funny, and quite true.

I voted for 80-89% of simulation, because it's somewhat hardcore and challenging but not as much as absolutely anoraky and rock-hardcore racing sims (See: Rfactor, iRacing, Live for Speed). And those ones are 95% of simulation. Unless you can get a real car on a real track you'll never reach the 100% mark.

Edit:
I'm honest and chose I don't know since I never raced before

Too late for my honesty :indiff:. But yeah, I've never raced, nor even driven a real car, so my opinion is maybe worthless.

We do not know that the physics engine will be the same as in the demo, unless you have some special information that the rest of us do not! I did read the question and still will not vote until I play GT5 and can formulate an educated assumption on GT5 physics. Actually I do not really like your condesending attitude so I wont vote in your little poll at all!

I highly doubt PD will throw away a physics system that took them 3 years to make. Plus I'm pretty sure Kaz already confirmed the TT physics for the full version of GT5.

Sorry if I sound a bit harsh, but it's just the way I right.
