Where have all the Supras gone?

I've been looking for about 4 months for a 93 or newer supra. I dont' care if it's wrecked or good condition. The only thing I find are $20,000 cars.:banghead: Is it because I'm on the Northeast coast of the US or is it like that everywhere? Damn F & F has ruined my hopes of building my dream car.
 
You're not going to find many turbos for under $20,000. If you do chances are they have 130,000+ miles.
 
Yeah....Turbo Supra's will still be in the 35 range...the good thing is..You can get a N/A Supra and put a single turbo on it.....And it'd be ALOT cheaper than buying a TT Supra..PLUS!! you might get lucky and get a 5 speed as apposed to a auto...PS...a TT Auto Supra is faster than a TT six speed.......(Six speed tranny weights a ton)
 
I thought NA-T conversions were fairly expensive.:odd: Probably not the $15,000-$20,000 difference between a Turbo, and N/A Supra, though.

I would consider swapping in the 'GTE, and Getrag 6 speed, but I heard that was very expensive as well. You'd be better off just buying a TT 6 speed to begin with.

Bah. Stupid F&F mother:censored: making the Supra's price raise so damn much.:irked: Actually it's the owners that are jacking the prices up because they know the F&F fanboys are willing to pay a ton for their cars.
 
I remember back about 5-7 years....You'd only see Supra's in the Doctors parking spots at hospitals..And the Supra's would sit on the lot's for months and months and months at a time..But now...they'd be gone within the first week...It's so funny how cars can be a trend aswell

Average price for a 1995 Supra TT in the UK is about £12500 (roughly U$19000)... That's for a good condition, full leather, non-modified, full TSH 30000 miler.
 
Actually, you are looking for a needle in a haystack. Less than 12,000 4th gen Supras TOTAL made it to the states. They cost over 40,000 new. Now that they are popular again, they are retaining their dollar value. You'd almost be better off trying to find a used, but well maintained Porsche 928. If that appeals to you go for the automatic. The manual requires a clutch change about every 10,000miles.

Want to look good and go slow? Buy the N/A Supra.

If your looking for Speed, dont play around and get the T or TT Supra. Turbocharging will be useless in the N/A Supra. 2 completely different engines in the N/A and Turbo models.

Yep. I just want to laugh at those who do the N/A-T. Turbo'ing the 2JZ-GE is stupid. They spend thousands of dollars only to match the performance of a stock twin turbo.

Um, used Supras were still plenty expensive long before that movie came out. A good majority of them wound up being rich-boy transportation when they were new, so they could still command a high price since they weren't driven hard or modified out the wazoo.
 
Lol...The funny thing is a N/A Supra costs abou 1/2 as much as a TT supra..And it's not as painstakingly difficult to make a good performing TT 2jz-GE...Same stability, just different changable parts
 
If you are going to get a TT supra...Get a Automatic TT...The Auto TT's are faster than the 6 speed TT's anyway..The 6 speed's tranny weights tooooo damn much

Uhh, I never said they were cheap before the F&F came out. I realize they were expensive before, but now they're even more expensive.

Around here the N/A's cost about 8 grand less than the same year TT model. I doubt there are many fast Supra's out there that are still powered by a 2JZ-GE motor. It's much cheaper to just buy a 'GTE, and go from there.

You've got to be more specific than that. Are you talking about N/A's, or twin turbo'ed models? Which year? A stock '93 TT around here would be, on average, $22,000+.
 
Are the TT's 2.5, and the N/A's 3 litre?

The site I'm looking at doesnt state whether its turbo or not mostly just capacity.
 
All MKIV's are 3.0l. The N/A's have a 2JZ-GE I6 motor, and the TT's have a 2JZ-GTE I6.

I flew 1,200 miles once just to see a Supra with 39 miles on it. It was a red auto '93 TT. It was for sale at Jim Norton Toyota in Tulsa, Ok. If they didn't want $60,000 for it I probably would've bought it.:irked:

The cheapest Supra I have ever seen for sale was a green auto '94 N/A with 60,000 miles on it. It was like 3 weeks ago. The guy wanted $12,000 for it.
 
Errr...there are quite a few TTs I saw in a Car advertising magazine, around 30,000 for a new one, and the NAs go for about 20,000 (again, around 10-15,000 US) :D
 
I believe there was a Mk3 2.5 Twin Turbo produced for a very short time near the model's death. But all Mk4s are 3.0 i6s.
