Where is Ginetta?

Ginetta is a British manufacturer with decades of history and today has widely-used race cars in the GT3 and GT4 classes. I'm puzzled as to why it was not included in GTS, considering the Sport mode racing focus. As a small, race-focused manufacturer the license fees couldn't have been expensive. Previous GTs have also included one of the vintage Ginettas. What do you think the chances are of the modern racing Ginettas like the G55 showing up in future updates?

I'm guessing PCars has an exclusive license to the current Ginetta cars, seeing its absence from Assetto Corsa as well (All I know is that there's mods for it on AC, but not official content)

Ginetta has disappeared from GT ever since 6 got released. Gt6 did not have ginetta only GT psp, GT4 and GT5.

Either PD has issues or did not bother to get the licence. A lot of manufacturers have come and gone like Vector and Venturi and its a shame GT never got them back.

The disappearance of an manufacturer may not mean a exclusive licence is signed. Either the licence got expired and PD did not bother to renew it. The thing is that Ginetta is a unknown brand hence why PD might prefer putting in more cars like Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini or Mclaren because they are well known hence its worth the money putting them in.

Its also a mystery how Lotus was supposed to be in GT sport but only for it not to make the cut which could be licensing issues or maybe because Geely bought Lotus which may have affected the licensing deal.

The chances are slim at best. It will take a long time to get to the level of diversity seen in the car list of GT4, and Ginetta is an obscure brand.

To the average person Ginetta is unknown perhaps, but in GT3 and GT4 racing it's somewhat common. For instance at the 2018 Bathurst 12-hour there were three Ginettas entered. Being obscure hasn't stopped Kaz so far in GTS -- how many average people have heard of the X-Bow for instance? My hunch is more that PD only wanted major auto manufacturers to be available for the Group classes in Sport mode and FIA races, but who knows.

From this angle looks like corvette.

I'd just like to see any new track focused road cars instead of the usual rehash of cars that have been in games for years .

The KTM Crossbow has actually been on Top Gear etc. and its a car used on that Race of Champions thing.

Also its a part of that "minimalist" track car vibe just like the Ariel Atom etc.

I get the feeling GTS wants to be as mainstream as possible as far as brands go. Its unlike Forza 7 which has 600 cars and just about all the brands (except Toyota!) - they can afford to have the more niche brands since they already have them all.

There are many many more brands that bring more 'buzz' to GTS than something like Ginetta.

I bet more people know about KTM than about Ginetta, it’s a much bigger company.

I don’t think that they only want major brands in the classes, but the major brands simply have a higher priority. And there are so many small brands around that the chance of picking Ginetta over one of the hundreds of other brands is small.
PD did pull DeTomaso out of a hat. Anything is possible.

Out of the suggestions forum, actually. And Ginetta is not doing particularly well there.

Edit: the most popular Ginetta is currently on page 14 (slightly behind a Volvo 850) while there’s one De Tomaso Pantera on page 1 and another on page 2.

Dunno, did anyone vote for the F1500? PD have been surprising us throughout.

In what series are GT3 Ginettas running ? The only Ginettas i've seen race at the GT4 category.
I was actually surprised to not see Ginetta in GT Sport though. It suits perfectly their Gr. system , having cars in both GT3 , GT4 , and LMP1.

It was in GT6 as a part of the Senna content.
Just don't rule it out because it isn't popular.

Ginetta run in British GT and European GT4 series(which had one if it's biggest grids this past weekend), also as noted in the Bathurst 12H and Australian GT.

You said that the De Tomaso was pulled from the hat, but it’s actually a popular car.

The F1500, in turn, was added to GT6 because it was driven by Senna, and then added to GT Sport because it was in GT6.

None of those cars is an indicator of anything when it comes to Ginetta’s chances of coming to GT Sport.

I'd definitely love to have Ginetta back, the G60 LMP1 car looks amazing. Would also be a nice addition to the Gr.1 field.

The same as when GTS was announced, there was no indication cars earlier than 2009 were going to be in the game. The game appeared to only include new cars. There was no indication a Pantera, E30, Supra and all the other cars added, would be in the game. Speculation is all anyone can go by or until PDi give us hints as they have been giving us. Just because a car was in GT6, doesn't mean it will appear in this game.

Once we got the first "Standard", we had something to speculate about current content. We got the F1500, does that mean we will get Senna content? Heck, any car added, isn't an indicator to any car coming to GT Sport. The question was asked, no one has an answer from PDi. All those that reply, can only speculate, theorize, dream.

Of course anything can happen. But there is absolutely nothing pointing towards a future inclusion of Ginetta so the chances are small.

I'm sure those posting in this thread know that. That's why posts are replying with guesses. I'm trying to find where anyone posted it's clear cut.

Ginetta would have been good, I always enjoy watching Ginetta Juniors when the BTCC is on, They would make a fun alternative to a Lotus Elise, Similar Power/Weight I believe. Would have been good for people learning the ropes. Sort of like the slightly lower than Gr4 while still being track focused.
