Where is multi-class racing?

I'd really like multi class, but GT5 is missing so much else. Classes first of all. Forza's public online was, in a word, terrible. The options in private rooms however are a stunning masterpiece. ALMS, NASCAR, drivertrain, qualification if I recall, possibility to set Performance Index limits. I don't know what PD has against copying good ideas, but they should drop that attitude for their own sake.

Anyway, while I'd love multi class racing, I think the basic racing options should be fixed first.

Number 1, we need Performance Points. Not debatable
2. Proper qualification as an option (goes for offline too, along with practice laps)
3. More specific performance limitations beyond PP, HP, and weight: road/race car, aero, sports/racing clutch, tire width, etc.
4. Some physics tweaking, like the mega draft.

Once all that is done, we'd have a much better base to expand on.

So true. FM2 was great for public lobbies, they went away from it and heard it LOUD AND CLEAR from the fans. NOBODY bent over and took that one, no Turn10 kneepads to be found. The fans let it be known it was a dumb idea. I bet any amount of money they'll put it back for FM4. But as you said, private was a masterpiece.

Totally agree with you that those things need to be addressed with GT5. Should have been addressed and included from the get go.

While more option is always nice there are more things IMO that needs to be added in GT5 than this. While no doubt there are a few who would do this yet most would not. I personally don't care for multi-class unless there were a lot more cars on the track especially more than 8 as in FM3.

I thought I would feel the same way until I actually did it. Changed my tune very quick. Infact, I didn't even get down with them when they kicked off the first series. I either subbed in for someone on the second series or maybe the first, then it was over. Me hooked now.
