M3 CSL is hands down my favorite car in the whole game, not just favorite BMW!

with a little suspension tuning it will smoke lighter cars and higher hp cars what more could you want

So whats the difference between the csl and gtr? I neglected to buy the csl thinking of it as a midrange model between the regular M and GTR.

I love my M5. No engine mods but full weight reduction and suspension etc make it a fun lively drive. Also in white with black carbon hood and aero parts and black wheels it looks gooood!

CSL is one of the best cars in the game hands down. Based on pp, the CSL is much quicker than the M3 GTR. I usually start off with the GTR in online racing, then pull out the CSL just to add insult to injury!

Haha great fun isn't it when someone else has the GTR and you nail them in the CSL.👍

Z4M is my favorite! I currently have two. Because of it's "early" torque (1600rpm) I've use it to compete against cars above it's level. This is a car I'd love to have in the real-world. It's done better for me at Nurburgring then the Mercedes SL-55

Another favorite is the M5. Very good handling and acceleration.

Standard M3s from the standard M3, to the CSL, to the GTR, are amazing cars to drive on any track. Overall though, I think the CSL has to take the crown.

If it's only Premiums, then the M3 '07 and Z4M. They tie.

I actually like the V12 LMR Race Car. Even though it's not one the fastest LMP cars it's still one of my favourites. The standard BMW M3 '04 is another great car to drive in my opinion, although I haven't tried the CSL yet so I can't make a comparison between them. Apparently the CSL is better, so I'll keep an eye out for it.

I also have to mention the Z4 M Coupe, I just love sliding through the corners in that thing. It's definitely one of my favourite cars in the entire game 👍

The CSL is special because it seems to have no flaws. For a car with it's power, it accelerates really well, has a high top speed. And for what it is, it corners, brakes, and does everything so smoothly and easily.

The CSL? Really? What's so special about it? :dunce:

You can race that puppy box stock without any worries of how the car is going to handle. It is one of those cars that handles beautifully, accelerates like a rocket, and makes the competition weep! So far, it is the ONLY production car I have been able to find that will break 1:13 at Deep Forest at 510pp. So far I have tried 50+ cars, and the only one that comes even close is the Scuderia at a half a second off the pace. Do yourself a favor and grace your garage with this car!

i have a thing against standard cars

The premium BMWs suck... way too slow to keep up with an M3 GT-R. The standard M3 weighs over 200kgs more even with the weight reduction, terrible car.

The GTR is basically the V8 that eventually went into the new M3 in the E46 body, matched to a racing suspension.

The CSL is the ultimate incarnation of the straight-six M3, it's a regular M3 minus nearly 200 kilograms of pork, with a better suspension and stock tires.

Since it's not a race car, it's not tuned to be edgy. Since it's ultra-light compared to the regular M3, it's incredibly quick for the amount of power. And since it came on barely street legal Michelin Pilot Cup Sport tires as standard, the base level of grip in the game at Sports Hard is actually higher than for most other cars.

So it sticks great, turns great, accelerates great and is so controllable it's almost criminal. Can't have enough of these in your garage. (I collect standard Bimmers)

I do have a soft spot for the new M3, however. Keener turn-in than most of the older cars on the same tire, but the extra weight does make it a tad clumsier than the CSL.

Not to mention the longer wheelbase on the new M3. I do prefer the E46 models too, they're just better cars in almost every way than the current gen bimmers.

Simple : All. The M3 GT-R Race Car is a very good race car, I completed nearly the whole game @ GT4 with it. I didnt use it much in GT5. All premium BMW's are sick drift cars as well. I got every BMW, V12 LMR, M3 GT-R, M Coupe etcetera etcetera, EXCEPT the Diesel 120d car. cant be %*!@ driving any diesel car . Im a big big BMW FAN. M-POWER !

I actually like the premium 1 series. And not the tii concept either. The regular 1 series completely stock. I just find it's a quick nimble little car and I have more fun in it than the M3.

I have the M3 CSL and GTR but haven't really tried them all that much except a bit online, so maybe my opinion might change.

Why wouldnt you like the Tii ? Its exact the same as the normal 135 xD. Paint the Tii in another color. It will look nice then.

M3's are very good, but the normal M3 E46 is a bit dissapointing. You need a good tune for it to have fun with it. As iIsaid, I love all BMW's except diesels.

IMHO the CSL is the best all round road car in the game. It does EVERYTHING well and nothing bad. Saying that though it definitely needs a rear wing.

Anyone else here got the 2005 M5? Maxed out its a treat, very different to the lastest model, I definitely prefer it. I think the pp is also slightly higher for the 05 version. I've never seen another when racing online and I only just aquired mine after stumbling upon in the UCD. Reccomended.

I never really understood what is so good about the CSL, i much prefer the standard M3 04 and i find it handles better and can get a better time with it around Nurb.
Plus with exactly the same weight, specs and tune i can get anouther 30HP out of it compared to the CSL at 520pp.

And i think the front of the CSL loks quite ugly lol.

Stock M5, I like big heavy powerful 4 door cars... Or the 1 series concept on Comfort: Softs and a few power adders. Really fun to slide around corners.

I just tried out my CSL because of you guys. No Mods, no tuning - Instantly became my new favourite car! It's only 4 seconds slower on Trial Mountain than my fully tuned Ford GT 05 (no stripe). ( maybe i can't drive the GT? )

Would love to try out the M3 GTR, but i didn't see it yet in UCD.

I recently bought five FR premium cars, all in the same general class: a 350Z, Mustang, RX-8, S2000, and 135i.

See, I'm cooking up what could be an online racing series. So I "race prep" each car a bit. Everybody gets upgraded exhaust, clutch, stiffening, flywheel, windows, racing hards, etc. Then, using weight reductions, tried to make them so they all weigh about the same. So far no power mods, but that's coming up.

And of these near-equal mods to each car, let me tell you: the Bimmer was by far my fave. :) Sublime handling, great accel/decel, stable... Great car. Nine seconds faster around Nurb GP that the slowest, the S2000 (which,by no coincidence, has the least power ).

You could argue that I like it best because right now, it has the most power of the five. But once I get these cars all clocking the same lap times, we'll see :)

So what I want to say is that the 135i, with good mods, is a great BMW 👍

BTW, how does this sound as a series? Like diminutive touring cars?

Sounds fun. I wish the 1 Series M Coupe was in the game.

Oh man, me too! Every time I read about it in a magazine, I realize how cool that little thing is. And the bodykit is to die for IMO

And thanks! Keep an eye peeled; my series would start up this summer if it does.

If you're in a place where they sell BMW diesel cars... go schedule a test drive, fiddle with the traction control to get it completely off, plant both feet on the pedals to torque brake, then let off for a very satisfying laying of stripe.

New diesels are great. BMW diesels are a cut above the ordinary ones.

That said, the 120d in the game still has the old iron engine block, which is heavy, and you can feel that compared to the 120i. Shame they didn't include the 23d, which has the same 2.0 displacement but more power and an aluminum engine block, or, even better, a 335d, which is darn near perfect. Doesn't sound all that great, but doesn't sound horrible, either, and the huge turbo ramp up on the 300 hp version of the 3 liter engine is... entertaining... to say the least. :D

I rock the z4 couple and at 400 horsies its superb. Wish I could score a m3 GTR tho. Or just a regular 05 m3... but thats just wishful thinking ;D
