Mazda 787B ?
Toyota GT-ONE Race Car (TS020) ?
Nissan R390 GT1 LM Race Car ?

These 3 cars tend to appear in every race they can near the end of the game. I was just wondering what you prefered. For me it is definatly the 787B due to its speed and great handling.

I find the R390 LM is a better car than the 787B. I can usually get much quicker lap times with it compared to the 787B. And I dont how the GT-ONE is because I still havent spent any time trying to get it.

I like them all. It depends on what I want to do. R390 LM on Deep Forest is a blast. GT One on Laguna is tons of fun. 787B on Cote is awesome. I get my best times in the GT One and the R390. The GT One can be a little twitchy and unforgiving. The R390 is easiest of them all. 787B's five speed encourages maintaining high RPMs in turns and seems to, for me, minimize wheel spin after shifting.

I don't have the race versions of either the TS020 or the R390, so I can't comment. But I can beat them both with my 787B when the AI drives them. I'm in the middle of the GT All Stars Pro right now, and the R390 crushes me on the straights now that my oil has gone bad, but I can clobber him in the corners. Then again the AI driving is mediocre at best, so that's no test.

That'll be just your wheelie/wall rub laps then? Fastest recorded genuine lap of Test Course is 1'17.8 in the Pike's Peak...

I like all the three, but my favourite is the Mazda 787B - noise... :D

Best noise overall: 787B
Best blowoff noise: GTone
Best looks: R390

That's just my very humble opinion of course.

Do you happen to have any comments about how they drive? Just wondering...

Well, naturally they all stick like glue. :D The TS020 always appears more cumbersome in turns compared to the 787B - the Mazda always seems "pointer", easier to turn in.

The R390 needs an early gear change to keep in the powerband - around 5500rpm. Otherwise it might seem slower than the others. The 787B is hindered by only having 5 gears to play with, but it's not THAT much of a problem. Got to love the noise... :D

I chose 787B as i don't like the GT-One, i feel it is much too cumbersome. But i haven't driven the R390 and would want to.....i guess i can in Arcade Mode.

It is not ugly. Take it back.

Ugly ugly ugly. The TS020 looks like a DustBuster on steroids, and it sounds like a giant mosquito with hay fever.
;)
No idea how the racecar drives, though, since I don't own one.

Pooh.

Dirty.

Or maybe because he had just been and done a whole 24hr race. Gotta love that race dirt.

I think my driving style suits the GT-One the most, seeing as I have set my fastest times with it. Actually I think I have bettered some with the R390, but it just doesn't look as fast. The 787b is fine stock, but that car seems to hate my driving style. I can cut through the AI with it, but I can't set as fast a hotlap as the other 2.

Although I do favor the looks of the Gt-0ne over the R390.

Well I favour the GTone to drive but that's because I got that first out of all the 3 cars mentioned so naturally I'm more used to it.
The 787B feels more direct (if that's possible thru a DS2) and the Nissan, well I have to confess I have never actually tried it!

thats one car that definitely needs a 50Cr car wash :D

hey i just realised, thats a bit expensive for a car wash isnt it? i mean its what, 10% the cost of a set of wheels. say a set of wheels + tyres costs £1500, that would mean the car was is £150 hehe, i hope they wax it for that kind of money.

anyway back to the topic, the 787B sounds great, never really used it on a twisty course so can't comment on the handling. the R390 felt ok, but nothing special, i felt it was very ugly so i sold it instantly. and i've only used the gt1 for the wheelie but if the road car is anything to go by, it suffers from tremendous understeer and as a result i wouldn't touch it with a barge pole
