Which car for: SSr5 , TT16 ?

Wich car(s) ?, with what/who's tune ? to use on SpecicialStage route 5 ? -Time Trail 16-
I couldn't find a thread about it but when it allready exists i'm sorry to start a new thread and perhaps an admin. can merge them.
But i've used: Nissan Skyline (one of the 50 plus Skyline's that are available -LOL-)GT-R VspecII Nür 1994 (premium of course) with MFT tune (thanks to the Fin's).
I've golded (just, i had a second to spare) this TT in my 2nd lap and my best time soon followed (wich wasn't realy faster)
I'm curious which cars you used and if you used any tunes ?
I used my Skyline mainly because it was an available model wich is closest to the eligible qualifications to participate in this TT.

The Nissan R390 road car works well. I think I managed a 1:35:xx and will post the set up here later. However I am looking for help on improving the set up in order to put down a low 1:30

Top guys are 1:28:xx last time I checked.

You can borrow my R390 for a few hours if you don't have one. Let me know.
 
I got a 1:30.8xx with standard tune in the r390, after about 15 laps.
I set it on my little brothers account though cos I dont have the r390.

I find I need to do at least 40 laps to learn a track from scratch. Then another 100 laps to get within a second of the fastest guys.

I just left the suspension as it is by default.
Of course I tuned the engine to 394hp and ballast to 1200kg.

I've only been able to get about 20 laps in so far. More helps for sure. I ended up 90 on the last tt, so I'm hoping to get into the top 1000 at least.
I'm better at the ovals.
 
If only the R930 was a production car... I used an M3 CSL, managed a fairly decent time.

LoL, I bet I could get a 1:29.xxx with stock, and with a good set-up I might be able to take a 3 tenths off that. There is no way a good set-up will take 3 seconds off your lap. I bet Ti-Tech85 would be less than half a second slower with stock set up.

The set up wont make much of a differance until you really really really know the track, when you can do 3 or 4 competitive laps in a row within a tenth of a second of each other.

The top guys are just REALLY good, I bet all they did was lower the car, harden the suspension a little, maybe add some camber and change the toe to their personal preference. Make sure they have the transmission almost maxxing on the longest straight.
Then hit the track.

Anyway, if anyone needs to try out/ borrow the car...pm me.
 
I offer because I know there are a lot if fast guys that don't have the R390.

I asume the R390 roadcar is. I have seen it only once or twice in OCD/UCD i don't think i've bought it. But a good tune (one you fit that is) does wonders for your laptimes.
btw I guess the R390 has to be downtunned HP wise in order to get on 390(plus/minus)HP, i'd be surprised if it passes TT16 regulations in original form.
I'll try the Alfa '65 ZT-zaragato....longnumber, that car did make me:) in the Compact seasonal, i hope it passes TT16 regulations (it might be to light) Oh-well.., only 1 way to find out.., hehe.

Yinato had posted his set up during the previous tt. It's on a french gt site. I forget how I googled it exactly, but not hard to find.

I dropped over 3 seconds at indy with his tune.

Just did 1:30.772 with stock tune.
Gonna try this set up now. :D

Edit: just did about 15 laps, best I got was 1:31.6xx, but the car is definately easier to handle. There is so much more room for error on the high speed turns. :D
I would guess yinato's set up for this track is quite differant to the setup he used on the oval.
Coming into the last section im 1.8 seconds behind Ti-Tech85's ghost but im losing alot in the last section,
im gonna watch his replay and have a look how he takes it.

That's it. For ssr5 I moved the ballast forward for a 50/50 split.

Putting car online now for about 20 hrs. I will need to do more laps Tues night:)

Stano666 let me know how you do with the car. And feel free to change settings if needed. I have the settings saved, so no problem making changes.

I think I used my Italia. Managed it in one try. That car just beasts everything.
 
Can gold this tt with many cars. I've used zr1, ford cobra and some others, but find the r390 roadcar fastest due to extra downforce.

I did a 1:35.110 with r390 on dualshock 3, my attempted tune is bad lol.
 
anyone got nsx proto setup? ive managed to do 1:32.9 so far in that

:) Yup, tried both, they're close in speed but the r390 is so much easy'r to drive, i've used 'your' settings and improved my laptimes with 3 seconds. Thank you for it.
The settings will return to the owners spec. as soon as they return, so saving isn't necessary btw.
I hope to find both cars in OCD or UCD soon (hope i have the credits when i do -LOL-)

You can try yinatos set up posted previously in this thread or whatever its called. You might want to change the ballast to 50/50 and then tweak the dampers a bit.

What is your set up? I think thats a pretty good time.
 
I used a Ford RS2000 w/ lots of drifting and 4WD traction to get round corners fast.
 
I used the Tommi Makkinen Evo VI from the Mitsu Dealer. Full tune and wt. reduction then corrected for 394hp and 1200kg. One clumsy lap with a DS3 and I still easily got gold. Too easily really. That car is fun to drive though. 👍
