Here is a new game. (Mods, if you think it is spam, please move it to the test froum) One person posts two cars and the next person says which one would win in a race and why. That person then posts the next matchup.

Assumtions: (unless stated otherwise)

  • Assume the drivers are of equal skill
  • All cars are stcok at at the most basic package and tuning.
  • Assume that they are on a track that has stresses both top speed and handling.
I'll start: Dodge Viper GTS vs. Corvette Z06

The GTS should win easily, right? It's got more power, has a higher top speed, and accelerates quicker. I've never driven either one, but they're pretty closely matched in terms of handling (maybe the Z06 has an edge at this because it weighs about 300 pounds less).

2003 Acura NSX v. 2004 AMG C32

NSX, The AMG is a luxury car, and Is 400lbs heavier than the NSX. The NSX does 0-60,100, and the quarter mile faster than the AMG. Plus, the NSX is proven to perform well on the track.

Acura TL vs. 1995 RX-7

The RX7. The acura has the edge on HP, but it's only by 15, and it's FWD. The RX7 is a fullblown sports car and RWD. Unfortunately since it's base model, the RX7 doesnt have the R2 suspension package, but I still think it would come out on top.

1999 Acura Integra GSR vs 2001 Celica GTS.

Ford GT. It is one of the few American Supercars. Hs more horses under the hood, faster in every category than the Challange, and Better skidpad ratings. The 360 has better brakes but they have actually put these two cars and a GT3 up against eachother in a track and the Ford GT beat the other two by about 2 seconds, I believe...

Bently Speed 8 vs. Maserati MCC

Speed 8 now the 04 accord ex v6 vs camry XLE.

pimp racer
Speed 8 now the 04 accord ex v6 vs camry XLE.

So why the Speed 8?

I personally think the Speed 8 would win, because it's been racing for longer and the little niggles have probably been ironed out, whereas the MCC hasn't been around for long and it hasn't raced yet.

How about this one: Lamborghini LM002 vs Hummer H1

Offroading, the H1 would win, hands down. It is built for the harshest offroading imaginable. On the track, LM002 would win. The H1 has only 200 hp, while the LM002 has 450hp. I doubt the H1 can do 0-60 in 7.5 seconds...

next, Lamborghini Murcielgao vs. Saleen S7

The Saleen would win hands down. The Saleen has a slight edge in acceleration, but the Italian V12 weighs down the Lambo, and helps give the Saleen a large edge in handling.

Next: '67 Ford Mustang Fastback vs. '67 Dodge Charger R/T

Charger R/T, definitely...A Charger would have a good chunk better performance, especially in the straights, possibly in handling, and is all-around a more performance-oriented car.

...say, 2003 Infiniti M45 vs. 2003 Infinti G35 Sedan

Opps forgot to say why Maybe because of the same reason as you because they still havent raced the MCC at lemans yet and we dont know if it will be suscefull so right now it the Speed 8.

Hmm. M45
now the 04 accord ex v6 vs 04 camry XLE.
*EDIT* Forgot to post why again
Because the M45 looks much more futurastic and has more room.

Accord...IMO, the Accord just looks faster, and is a more fantastic car. It is Honda's top of the line , right? (Not counting the NSX. In America is what I mean)

Now,

Lamborghini Diablo 6.0 VT vs. Lamborghini Murcielago.

Mustang GT vs Ditka

DITKA!

Ok ok, that one was easy. Honda NSX vs Ditka

... mmmm ... DITKA!!

How about Porsche 911 Turbo S?

Porsche. Just kidding, DITKA!!!

Enzo Ferrari driving the Enzo Ferrari vs Ditka.

Tie. But Ditka wins because Enzo is dead.

2004 XRS vs. 1985 GT-S
Or... if you're in Japan, Sprinter Trueno 3-Door GT-APEX 1600

This is on Sonoma. (Sears point, shhort [nascar] course)

Instead of comparing Toyota Corollas, lets compare some real high performance cars. The 1984 DeTomaso Pantera gts vs. 1984 Ferrari Testarossa vs. 1984 Lamborghini Countach LP500S. On the complex string from Gran Turismo 3. Who would win 1st, 2nd & 3rd place.

I couldn't even began to tell you that, but for a guess I would say the Panera gts just because I'm pretty sure that they are lighter.....please don't make fun of me for being totally wrong.

How bout this : SE-R 2004 v. Golf GTi 2004

^ Um which GTi? The 1.8T or the VR6, I think its the 1.8T. I think it will be the GTi because the Sentra SE-R (I don't even know whether its the standard trim or the Spec-V) has too much weight in front and it doesn't equipped with a LSD.

Let me see: Saleen S7 vs. Ford GT

The GTO won't have enough power to make up for it's handling deficiencies vs. the Vette, so the Vette would definitley take that one, especially since the venue is Laguna Seca.

As for a more fair opponent, '05 Pontiac GTO vs. '05 Chrysler 300C (yeah, it's got a hemi).

I'll presume both '04s and both base cars. I assume road course, not 1320.

In which case: Evo by a hair.

Here's another Evo...

'96 BMW M3 Evolution 3.2 (321 hp) vs. '96 Porsche 911 Carrera S (286 hp)

Venue: Spa

M

Civic Si. Gives up 30 HP but is 100s of lbs. lighter.

And win or lose a Mustang without a v8 is still a loser.

How about... 1995 Escort RS Cosworth vs. 1995 Lancer EVO III

Well the ford escort is a pretty pathetic car, a little fwd coupe with no power at all it was never anything special so I'll take the Evo.

2002 Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type B (Japan only) vs. 2002 Nissan Fairlady Z Nismo R-Tune

venue: Riverside International Raceway, 1960 layout:
