Is there a better or worse order to perform engine modifications? For instance, if i wanted to keep a vehicle under a certain BHP and had like 60 HP I could gain, which engine mods make the most difference? Should i do the stage 1 engine, some air and some exhaust or is it just HP and the best combination of any to not exceed the maximum HP?

I know all that sounds crazy, just trying to figure out is some more important than others.

The best bang for your buck would to be to buy the ECU tune, racing air filter, and a sport cat/pipe. That's a total of 2000 and usually yields decent gains. Then the sport muffler too.

I have to agree. Whenever wanting more power, these are the first things I go to because they're practically free and can give you as much or even more than lots of more expensive upgrades. It's a total of 1950, though (1000 + 450 + 500).

I thougt about this too. The turbo stages have some different effects i guess. Not just adding hp. The rest I assume is just more hp, no matter if they come from a filter upgrade or exhaust? I don't know the first thing about cars so a good answer from someone who does would be nice.

I have to agree on the ECU,Filter and Exhaust. Big bang for the buck without going into overkill.

As a general hint for staying under a certain hp number, you should use mods which increase the torque of the engine either evenly or mainly at low revs. Increasing torque at higher revs always goes with upping the horsepower quickly, so you reach the limit you'd like to avoid quicker.

As far as I am aware, mods like exhausts and intake filters improve the torque at high revs by optimizing the large-volume airflow. Mods like the ECU tuning, the stage one turbo and the supercharger however should concentrate their efforts in the lower revs or increase torque evenly, so theoretically it is better to aim for that.

Unfortunately, PD ditched the hp/torque graph where you were able to preview your changes a long time ago, so it's more or less a guessing game right now.

Yep and don't forget the oil change.

I usually do Oil, ECU, Air Filter,Cat

As to the question of order posed by the OP I do not think the order matters at all other than of course the stage 1,2,3 parts that can only be installed in order.

In general it is a good idea to be hesitant to install the items that can not be removed.
