Which games have impressed your friends most?

I haven't managed to convince a single person to buy a PS3 yet, although two people in recent weeks were seriously impressed by the amount of stuff the PS3 has, particularly Blu-ray. Annoyingly, games like GTA:IV are just as good on the Xbox, and so my best mate (who I really wanted to buy a PS3, so we could play FIFA and GTA online) went out and bought a 360. That said, this means I'll probably get to play Forza - especially if I buy it for him as a birthday present :lol:

Haha that trick works. I did it 2 years ago to a mate with halo as I always liked 1 and 2 but would never buy a 360 for the 3rd one.
 
my list: COD 4. Killzone 2. gt5p. mirrors edge. bioshock. R6 vegas 1&2. UFC undisputed. ghost recon awf 2. dirt. grid. moto gp08. resident evil 5. dead space. wheelman. thats just what i can think of now.
 
Seems like you have easily impressed friends, then, if such a wide variety of genres does the trick.

i dont have any non PS3 owning friends. i thought they were all rubish and kicked them to the curb. but they were guite impressed by GT5P before i kicked them away. i told them they could be my friend again when they got a proper game console.
 
I was invited to my friend's house to hook up the PS3 to his new 1080p 52" samsung, and he was very impressed with Killzone 2. He is a diehard Nintendo fanboy and hates anything not Smash brothers or zelda related, but he couldn't put down Killzone 2 which was a shock if you knew his background with games. He kept mentioning how real and amazing it looked

However he was not impressed wtih multiplatform games like Resident Evil

The difference between the PS3 and 360 has become clear after 2 years as expected by many analysts. The 360 hit it's peak some time ago, and we're just now starting to see what the PS3 really can do.
 
What sort of mate are you talking about? Are they gamers or non gamers? From collating the thoughts of my friends that fall in to both camps, I can say that:

COD4:MW - All round 👍 Awesome! :D
COD5:WAW - General 👍 Guns selection. 👎
Tiger Woods '09 - General 👍 Easy to pick-up and play :D
GT5:P - Looks beautiful 👍 races are boring 👎
GTA:IV - Brilliant 👍 Excellent story :D
KZ2 - General 👍 Not what was promised or not as good as COD4/5/R2 👎 Looks beautiful :D (this game more than any on the list has the most divided opinion of everyone I know)
FIFA '09 - All round 👍 Better than Pro Evo now! :D
Resistance 2 - All round 👍 Brilliant if you like the first game :D
Far Cry 2 - General 👍 distances are too far to travel 👎
Fallout 3 - Not liked much at all 👎 game is boring 👎
Deadspace - General 👍 Good storyline :D
WipeoutHD - General 👍 Looks beautiful :D
Tekken 5 Online - All round 👍 You can play online! :D
Metal Gear Solid 4 - All round 👍 lots of cut scenes, not very long 👎

I don't own all these games, but I have either borrowed and played, or listened to the opinion of the majority of my friends to come to these conclusions. 👍
 
Motorstorm and Pacific Rift seem to impress my friends a lot, the way you can just jump straight into the action and have a really intense race is brilliant. They like the graphics on Killzone 2 and Cod4 but most of my mates are so bad at both of them that they don't get to have exciting games.

One of my friends doesn't even move out of the way when the grenade indicator appears :lol:
 
I've got a new one - Red Faction: Guerilla :D

I'd forgotten how awesome the environment damage was from the first game, this reminds again and in style!
This game really is making my friends want a PS3 just so they can play it with me! They can get it on PC but we can't get enough of the mulitplayer, brilliant stuff.

Fallout isn't really a game to play with friends by any means, it's one to sit around all day questing through the wastes exploring and so on. The scale is impressive but nothing else is impressive to someone who hasn't put some time into it. Except those slow motion over the top deaths.

As for games which have impressed my friends?

LittleBigPlanet has impressed everyone who's played it, they all were expecting some childish kids game as I was when I saw it at first, to find a really good laugh when you get a few players going.

MGS4 impressed my gamer friends rather strangely, none of them have been MGS fans but they all sat there plodding through the story and enjoyed the online to.

Killzone 2 packs a punch instantly with it's amazing graphics, the weighted controls are met with mixxed opinions with those who are casual gamers unable to accept that it's an FPS which isn't like COD where you move around like ninjas, and those willing to try something different who generally enjoyed it with some exception.

Socom when it gets it's rare appearances also impresses, not with graphics, not with great physics but for being different and offering a different experience to what we're all getting used to with near instant respawns on every game. (Speaking of I've made myself want to go on it now).

Same, everyone that's played LBP at my house has wanted to get a PS3 because of it :D They thought it sounded stupid too but once they see the game and get to play it they quickly change their minds.

Recently i mentioned Fat Princess to a couple of mates and they laughed at it, all i had to do was remind them what they originally thought of LBP and they shut up :p
 
It is impressive how LBP turned 3 17-19 year old serious gamers into silly idiots trying to slap each other on LBP as well :lol: We also pondered through alot of the co-op challenges and such but sometimes just slapping your friends sackboy into doom is good fun.
 
Ah yes, and annoying someone by grabbing into them just as they're going to make a jump :)

Once or twice we've had a whole four people hanging off one another on one of those sponge swings (or whatever they are :p)
