I've been using this $20 Plantronics bluetooth (from amazon)for almost 3 years now and had no problems. I play with a clan in BC2 so communication is a must and I've never had a complain in sound on either end. I do plan on getting some A30s but just goes to show you don;t need to spend much to get what you need. BTW turtle beaches are nothing but advertisement crap especially from companies like machinima, you're better off getting yourself a pair of sennheisers that are actually made of metal and made in germany for the same price you'd spend on some made in china plastic piece of crap turtles!

The more you know...

still using my socom logitech wired headset. good all round + came for free with the game years ago when online play first started

My friend and I spent a lot of time researching and testing inexpensive but comfortable headphone setups. The idea for us was to get great game sound and chat for many hours. These will also work on your PC when not PS3 gaming. My friend documented everything here:

The basic idea is to buy an inexpensive USB audio adapter and some other simple audio connectors. Then you can use standard PC audio headsets. We both like the Plantronics .audio 770 if you can find them (they are discontinued, but sometimes available). The blog post at that link gives all the details.

Note that he is using his receiver to get audio out from the PS3. For me I just took the yellow/red/white cable that came with my PS3 and connected an audio adapter to that so I could connect the headphones up directly.

Hey if you had opted for Sony, I feel it was a wise choice, but still if you are looking out for a better option then you can go in for Onida and Samsung they are also a better choice to try in, cause I'm, using one of them.

Well, thanks to Delaware's new-ish "hands free" law, it's time for me to join the Borg / Lando / pretentious shiny happy person crowd and get a bluetooth headset.

This is the kind of thing you can spend $19 or $190 on and have the quality and functionality be a total crapshoot either way. Anybody have particularly good or bad experiences to share on their brand/model?

It will be used with an iPhone 3GS and also probably with my PS3 for gaming chat. Also, standard Apple earbuds are WAAAAY too big for my ear openings, so that's a data point to consider too.

Thanks in advance for any input.
