I really want one of these but thetes loads of variants crop up in the UCD! Which is the best shot, with room for tuning if need be?

I prefer the ARTA NSX lol. I would go with the NSX R from the dealership just because its premium. But if you are going to buy one from the UCD get the Zero model, it is the lightest.

I agree, it all depends on if he has $950,000 though.

Street car?

Check the UCD for the Honda NSX Type R ‘92 or '02, or the nasty NSX-R Prototype LM Road Car.

If you must have a Premium, grab the Acura '91 or Type R '02.

Race car?

Check the UCD or Premium Dealership for the Super GT, JGTC, or LM Prototype cars. There's bound to be a livery you like. I'm partial to the Arta and Mobil. Also, check out the Acura '91 RM.

NSX Should have :

NSX Type R 02'
NSX-R Prototype LM Road Car
One of the superGT NSX (one of the newer model)

I didnt particulary like the RM Acura, because it's kinda slow (ok it's not really but you can only compete with it on RM race and with RM car, the arta garaya completly destroy the Acura RM).

NSX-R Prototype LM Road Car is by far my favorite NSX to drive, showed up in the UCD once and I got it, I tuned it up and let Bob drive it, kinda fun to watch him beat the "race" versions of the NSX in it.

Go for the NSX Type S Zero '97...
[P] Obviously the Type R '02...

The NSX is the car I 'collect' in Gran Turismo =)

The Type S Zero '97 was my favourite car in GT4.

I'm a NSX collector too :)

Why it's the '97 ? The '99 have ride aerodynamics mk2 and is ~6kg ligther, there's no point ? There was a match between the two on youtube, the S-Zero 99

Oh and since we are NSX fans, I think we can agree that there's no better road NSX than the S-Zero so why do you recommend the R '02 ? Just because of the cockpit view ?

I bought the NSR R in the dealership. It's great to drive. I bought a used NSX that i havent tried yet and the LM Road car. But these are std cars and really look dated.

Castrol Mugen NSX is one of the best cars I've driven because handling wise I would say it is one of the best cars out there, so if you see it then buy it without hesitation. I got mine from a ticket. I wouldn't ignore the Acura NSX since you can Race mod it - it's still a NSX

I'm pretty sure the R '92 is the lightest of the street cars.1230 kg and Zero is 1270

That sounds about right. Unfortunately, any weight advantage it enjoys is often negated by its lack of a 6th gear. Though you won't lose time with extra shifts (negligible), often times, you'll find yourself in a 'bad' gear and lack punch coming out of some corners (significant).

Then, there's the 30 ~ 40hp gap between an older 5-speed NSX (around 420hp) and a new one (around 455hp), once upgraded power enters the equation.

Personally, it doesn't really bother me, as it's an added challenge to use an older 5-speed NSX. Going for the best on paper, though, it's hard to beat the '97 Zero or '02 Type R.

👍

Well I did a race yesterday in a Mines Skyline GT R and the only car on my back door was a NSX 01! As for the lack of 6th gear why not just change the box?

On some cars with a 5-speed, purchasing the adjustable transmission doesn't always give you a 6th gear. A 5-speed Civic '91 will get a 6th gear, but a 5-speed NSX '91 will not.

I'm not saying that a car with a 5-speed won't be competitive in a race, because they can be and often are. I'm just saying that compromises have to be made in the gearing adjustments that limit the flexibility enjoyed in a 6-speed.

Don't get me started on 8-speed transmissions. Too many!

I take it the 6 box option has the yellow! next to it, forcing you to to shell out 15k for the custom box!
As for 8 gears, thats too many! Bring back 4 gears and overdrive ;)

I third the Mugen NSX. It might be standard but gesh does it handle great. If your a cockpit driver well of coarse you need a Premie. But I run either bumper or roof view and this car is great. Used it in one of those Seasonal races that required a NSX and it made it very competitive and a blast to come from behind.

i use the NSX-R Concept 01' and it spanks the NSX Type R found in the dealership at like 305HP

also own the Arta, Castrol, Takata (Old & New), Mobil 1, Raybrig and Loctite and the all handle really well, as far as the Super GT goes i prefer the Super Autobacs/Arta

If it has to be a Super GT, then the Raybrig has to be the fastest. Plus its body kit and livery are awesome.
