I have racked up the cash and bought an expensive puropse built race car (the au Cerumo Toyota Supra) as oppose to a road car only to find that I couldn't upgrade any parts (apart from add NOS.) I suspected as much as I also bought the Subaru Impreza Rally Car (which is purely for racing too) and could not modify this either. The Supra is only 450 odd HP (I think) but is still a 10 sec car (TFATF ref there) because it is light I suppose and reaches a reasonable top speed.

My question is, is there any way to modify the Supra and are there any race cars you can modify?

I am saving for the Dome Honda NSX at the mo (as it is awesome, especially around corners) although if this cannot be modified I might as well stick with my modified Zonda which goes like the clappers and can reach around 275mph which is sweet....or buy a Merc McLaren SLR and spice it up a bit 4 a laugh as I recon this will be awesome modified. Cheers.

Racing cars can only receive the major tuning modifications - turbos or NA tune. You'll find that the Impreza Rally Car can receive a stage 3 turbo (~300hp -> ~400hp) or stage 4 turbo (~300hp -> ~500hp). They cannot receive other parts (with the exception of tyres).

Ah well. I think I noticed the turbos but they cut out torque and make the car a sittle slow off the mark if im not mistaken. Thanks for clearing that up for me anyway. Cheers buddy!

I find it strage you can put NOS on a race car. I would think they would just kill your motor in real life!

(NOS , Nitrous, "Boost" ,N2o, I don't care what you call it)

I don't like putting in the stage 3 or 4 turbos either. They would only be necessary on a track where revs don't drop often. You can definitely get NA stage 3 tuning for the Benz CLK-GTR and for the camaro LM car (among others, I just don't know what others).
