Here's the sister thread to "which racing game are you most disappointed by?" Let's see which game the GTP community has been most pleased by!

But here's an interesting a little twist, the poll options are the same as the ones as in the previous poll. And like the other one, this will only last for two weeks.

Burnout Paradise is the game I'm most pleased about because it's so god-damned FUN. There's just something so deeply satisfying about wrecking someone's day and not feeling guilt about it. It's old but it still remains so much more enjoyable than any realistic sim game out there.

Special mentions also go to Forza 6 and Driveclub for being really good games too.

I voted Forza Motorsport but the game I've been most pleased by is Forza Horizon 2. If any game makes me change my mind, it could be Need For Speed once I play the full game.

Driveclub, Assetto Corsa, Burnout Paradise, GT6, Forza 6, NFSMW 2005, GT4, GTR2, Driver SF.

Once I get NFS I'll most likely add that to my list

Driver San Francisco, Forza Horizon 2, Forza Motorsport 6, Need for Speed Carbon, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit (2010), Need for Speed Most Wanted (2012) and Race Driver: Grid come to the top of my head.

Out of the list in the pole, I voted Forza Motorsport, because Horizon 2 is probably my most favourite racing game ever, but NFS (as a franchise) came in a close second.

Agreed.

Horizon 2 is downright fun. There's a myriad cars with a huge range between them, there's an insane amount of content, the physics are a great balance between arcade and sim (and you can fine-tune it) and the art direction is spot-on.

I first got the demo not expecting much but I had a stupid grin on my face the entire time playing.

ToCa 3, or V8 Supercars 3, as it's know by here in Australia. Such a big game with endless possibilities. I personally think it still stacks up to the likes of Forza & GT nearly a decade later.

I have to divide this into 2 categories, with and without my wheel.

Without a wheel goes to Forza 6, enjoyable with a controller.

With a wheel, Assetto Corsa.

Dirt Rally. Finally a proper rally sim since Richard Burns. The original Dirt series was still fun to play, but I wouldn't consider it a sim, and I don't think anyone else considered it a sim either. Now that Dirt Rally left Early Access just recently, it's pretty much polished, and it's certainly in sim territory. The cars, the stages, the graphics... it's all there.

All it needs now is a proper multiplayer mode..

iRacing. It doesn't offer much, but what it does offer is superb. Best driving experience. Best online experience.

It's not cheap, but neither are track days. It's about as close to actually getting on a track as you can get.

PS1: GT 1/2, NFS 1-5, Test Drive 3-6, Rage Racer & Ridge Racer Type 4
PS3: Burnout Paradise, Race Driver Grid, Blur, Driver SF
PC: EA F1 Challenge 99-02, Viper Racing, 1NSANE, NFS UG 1/2, Trackmania, RBR, SimBin sims (GTL, GTR2, Race07), rFactor

I'm sure I missed a few, but those are the ones that come to my mind straight away.

Why are GT specific titles but NFS and Forza aren't?

I'll go with Forza. I never expected another game to pick up the Gran Turismo formula and pull it off properly. Forza did, in some regard better than the more recent GT titles themselves. I was mighty impressed with it. To this day, I think Forza 4 is among my most played racing games, maybe even edging out Gran Turismo 4.

A carry over from my "Most Disappointed By" poll (the separation was requested), though since people are specifying which game in their posts I really shouldn't have bothered. :-|

Though it could simply be that I'm not very good at making polls. :dunce:

Assetto corsa is the best driving experience I've had in a sim with real cars.
Also honorable mention to LFS which still surpasses most modern sims for the level of realism in every detail of the driving.

"Forza Motorsport" is it, I suppose, since it's not separated into the three games currently on the XBox One carrying the Forza name. I'll echo a few other members' sentiments and say, specifically, Horizon 2. It surpassed my expectations more than any other game I've played on the list.

It depends. For pure driving pleasure, it's got to be PCars. I've never experience anything like it, and that's from someone who's only tried that game/simulator and not others. Also, I only have a G27 which I know it's not the best wheel.

But I had to give the vote to Forza Motorsports. It's the only title that has kept faithful to what a game should really be, and the only game who seems to be made with passion for those who are truly passionate for cars.

I wish I could give the vote to another game, but that title would have to go back to its roots and remember what made it so great back in the 90's where it was at the pinnacle of its glory.

When you say Need for Speed, I concern myself with the whole series.

I have never ran into atmospheres more lively as Prostreet, as intense as Shift 2 Unleashed or as fun as Hot Pursuit 2. Overall, it's my favorite racing game, despite me giving a ton of credit to Gran Turismo 4 as one of my favorite racing games of all time.

The Forza series has by far been one of the best racing series for me. F5 was the worst but F6 and FH2 have been incredible.

GT6 was an enjoyable game too. GT5 not so much. Looks like these 2 series do have one thing in common, #5 for both series was one of their worst games IMO.

DiRT Rally is a game I don't regret digging a crapload of hours in. A complete package of absolute quality

Assetto Corsa, I did the beta or alpha when it was released and didnt really like it so I was expecting nothing about it and it turn out fantastic. Love the driving and the force feedback on it, also ok to play on pad when I'm not at home.

Career mode isnt as good as Pcars but the rest make it up for it for me. The car list is just what I like too.
