Pulled over from the Assetto Corsa section to not fill it with off topic, and since essentially the same question is being asked here.
thanks for the input guys. is thrustmaster really that much of a crapshoot on reliability? i would definitely rather the better peals nad reliability over a slightly better ffb for sure. i am also one who tends to be unlucky with broken items when i place my more expensive purchases.

what do you guys think about the new GT sport thrustmaster that is coming out. i have no clue what the significance is, but it is to be a direct drive wheel? would that make it more reliable than the belt driven t300s?
The new wheel is still quite an unknown, but expect it to be more in Fanatec V2 price territory rather than T300/G29 if it's direct drive.

On T300 vs G29 - If it were me, I would decide based on pedals and not reliability. You get a warranty for a reason - if it fails, use it. I would probably get the better wheel (T300) and either see how much I could improve the feel of the stock pedals with mods while saving up for step up pedals if money was too tight, or go straight to the T3PA pedals if I could afford it.

Voted Other (T500RS). Great FFB, and strong also. I used to have a G25. The difference is huge. The G25 feels toy-ish in comparison (honestly - not trying to offend anyone). T500 feels a lot more "real" if I can use that word. :) The pedals are good I think, but I don't really have anything to compare with. Well, apart from the G25 ones. T500 pedals are certainly better than those.

Reliability: Well, this is of course highly anecdotal, unless there is a reliability database somewhere that I don't know of. I had it for 5 years until it caved in because I had tightened the mounting screws too much, as it turned out. Would probably have worked still if I hadn't.

So I bought the newest model, which has a much quieter fan. Great wheel!

Well I decided to email both Logitech and Thrustmaster about why I should buy their product compared with their competitors. I've not heard back from Logitech yet but this is the reply from Thrustmaster:

Dear Mr. Peter,

Regarding your inquiry.

Thank you for contacting Thrustmaster Technical Support.

We cannot make a comparison between our wheel and one of our competitor's wheel as we are not interested in making a better product than them but to make a great product that our customers can enjoy.

That being said, the T300 RS will suit your needs on both PC an PS3.

We have attached below a list with all compatible games. At the bottom of the page you can see the PS3 compatible games:

The decision remains with you.

We rest at your disposal for any further inquires.

Thrustmaster Technical Support is at your disposal for any other information you may need.

Right, I've decided to go with the Thrustmaster T300rs with pro pedals and shifter. Won't be buying it till summer or autumn though.

Logitech seem to have a 3 year warranty compared with Thrustmaster though who have only 2 years.

Amazon Prime Day is on 7/12/16. Maybe a chance to grab your wheel on sale.

Time to buy a new wheel for my PS4 and can not decide between the G29 or T300 just because of the pedal set.

Can anyone post the measurements (US) for the distance between the gas and brake and brake to clutch on the G29? I use the Driving Force GT now. I left foot brake and wondering if the gas and break on the G29 are closer together and if the clutch pedal is going to be in the way.

Wondering if the T300 2 pedal set might be a better option for me.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to measure and reply.
