Which view do you use?

I've been using wheel and bumper view (dials view in my mind), having same problems as others with knowing how big my imaginary car is, so....

I'm going to try converting to cockpit and find a car with a huge rear view mirror and wing mirrors that are visable. Now to search for the 'best all round view cockpit' thread....

I use the cockpit view when in A-spec but switch to the outside view when driving online. I never use cockpit view for standard cars unless it's open topped, I think you know the reason why.

I love Bumper cam but
no dials :-
no maps
no driver lists
no tyre gauges
no fuel levels
no oil temperature and pressure gauges,
not even a rev counter.

Do the players that got Chase cam for old times sakes play on the DPad too? (Don't you hate girls with long thumb nails that make a groove in your X button?) (oo-eer)

Using the bumper cam makes finding the right driving easier, but the interior view is much more immersive. As such, when I need to go fast I use the bumper cam, but if I'm feeling lenient, I'll use the interior view.

I've been using the bumper cam for GT academy.

I only ever use in-car. I love the extra level of immersion you get and when racing at night the lighting effects cascading through the cabin are fabulous.

Chase cam, just cuz I've been using that since 1995 or so LOL

^this, and... It is very helpful to know what my car is doing, so I much prefer to see the whole car. Plus the chase camera gives a far better view of the road ahead.

I use the interior view like 90% of the time. The only time I use the hood cam is when I'm doing license tests or GT Academy, since I have to be careful around cones.

Bumper when racing.
Sometimes hood if I haven't spent much time on the track.

Cockpit when cruising.
I love to go into cockpit and turn off the hud and map and just drive. Do that on the nur with a really nice premium. I can do it for hours.

Definitely interior view for me. So much more immersive, especially if it has working dials/gauges and the HUD is turned off. 👍

I really love using interior view now. Upgraded from 32 inch LCD to 55 inch LED LCD tv. It fells more like being in the car than before. Maybe its the perspective of it.

I use interior view all the time, even when drifting. Helps me get a feel for the car, and I find it VERY useful in tuning cars. :)

Cockpit or bumper depending on the cockpit. Sometimes standards' cockpits, being all black, fool the HDR rendering into overexposing everything that isn't the cockpit, so quite often I'll use the bumper view if that's putting me off. Otherwise, some premium cockpits are tricky to race with, the tuned G35 and Trans-Cammer are two that I've been quite distracted by that I can think of. I have been trying to use the cockpit no matter what recently though as that's what I use in every PC racer I can think of. I only use chase cams in Motorstorm, Wipeout and Burnout, that sort of thing.

I probably use bumper cam 90% of the time. The limited visibility and depth perception differences of cockpit tend to throw me off, however i do use it time to time. Just not competitively

3rd person view, I'm just so used to it from playing GT all these years and I like seeing the traffic all around me, as well as knowing if my tires are smoking. If I have a big lead and want to nurse the car, I'll go with an interior view.

I use the roof view most of the time just to keep the view as consistent as possible. The variation from cockpit to cockpit can sometimes take a lap or two to get use to. Once I get in the lead and have a lap or two I'll switch to the cockpit view for fun. Having said that, I don't recommend driving the *High End Performance G37 on the latest seasonal Aso track from the cockpit.

*yes, I had to put an anchor in the car to get it down to the 500pp, but it's also about the umpteanth different car I've driven on this course and most of them were tuned up, not down, so I don't feel bad. It's a fun car to drive, even with sugar in the tank.

If there was a way were we can control the transparency of the interior view that would be great. Best of both worlds interior and bumber views

I second this motion. Merge them by incorporating a transparency/opaque setting,

Generally roof/hood cam for driving, it seems to have the right geometry for using a wheel (thus no need to see one on screen). Cockpit view can be nice for replays posted to youtube though :)
