What is the best wheel shifter set up for GT5. G25, G27 or T500RS . I am trying to decide what one to buy I am using the DGFT wheel now and it is a good wheel but I would like to have the stand alone shifter option.

What are the pros and cons of the other wheels, And is there a shifter that will work with the T500RS

Thanks

Thrustmqasters new shifter is co,patible with all wheels with clutches i believe as is fanatecs new one... you may be able to map a clutch as a button though.

Wait... no link to your site???? are you sick or something? just kidding...

Fanatec GT3rs wheel has the superior pedal set (Clubsport pedals)
Thrustmaster T500rs has a good pedal set + is just a very nice wheel
There is also the upcoming Fanatec products.

Tough choices for the mid range sim/console racer. I have no Fanatec products currently but can vouch I adore my t500rs

Btw, amf7, you cannot map the Clutch in GT5 with the t500rs currently.

t500rs will no doubt have the best once it is out mid oct and GT5 gets a patch to accomodate it. otherwise currently would have to be the logitech. as for fanatec, good luck getting one since no eta (thing has been raved about for over a year now :p) and it seems they are busy with their Forza wheel and seemed to have put the rest on hold. anyway since you are asking about GT5 specifically, the Thrustmaster since is the official high end accessory for this game.

I am in the same boat as you as to which wheel to get. I am waiting until there are more reviews and for people to comment on them once they are in their hands. Other than that Thrustmaster or Fanatec are my two choices.

Fanatec is my 2cents. Custom setting on the wheel itself makes it so damn good.

Also, for me at least, spending a decent amount on a wheel I want it to work with every console (PS3, XBox, and PC), and right now Fanatec does that well. I just cant see myself spending 300+ on a wheel and be stuck with PS3 and PC only. Especially with Forza4 right around the corner.

Well yeah if you want to play FM 4 its a clear no brainer that Fanatec is your only choice. But if you only care for GT5 then your decision becomes very tough due to the excellent choices: Logitech, Fanatec, and Thrustmaster. Everyone has a ding against them. Fanatec has the best brakes and overall best game compat as rehashed in a lot of threads if you search this topic. Thrustmaster t500rs has a few unhappy users complaining about fans on this site (Im trying to avoid their bad karma by avoiding them lol) but we will be getting the TH8 RS shifter and Ferrari Wheel

The upcoming Fanatec products look like pure win. Well in particular I think that CSW will be awesome and I am eager to see T500 rs vs CSW threads. Only downside is the CSW will not have a super awesome shifter but it could be used with the TH8 RS. It's gettin' complicated lol

[quickie edit] Also dont forget existing Fanatec wheels can use that mod by interfaceone to use Lighting SST shifter. Lots of options if you willing to spend the money

Hey sandboxgod, keep in mind that this Mr. T already announced that there will be a ClubSport Shifter coming up. This shifter will be at the same level as the wheel and will come with a few surprises.

The G27 has to be the choice, unless you are on an unlimited budget, or just don't care to spend an extra couple of hundred dollars. With the 50% off coupons that logitech has going around, I really couldn't recommend anything else. A G27 for under 150$ is really hard to beat. It's not the best wheel or setup, but it's really good, and a great deal with that coupon.

Ah so the CSS sounds like it is coming shortly than. I wasn't very clear on that. I'll make sure to keep that in mind. Well things are going to get very interesting 👍

Are you saying you cannot map the Clutch in GT5 with the t500rs currently. then there is not much point in getting the new shifter.

I am sure they will fix that when the shifter arrives and add support for it. * Although I'd get it anyway since i rarely play gt5
