Cobra Replica V /Caterham/Lotus/Birken 7?

They both have similar performance up to 100kph (if considering the 427 Cobra), and both offer uncompromising driving positions.

I'm not too sure on the prices, but personally I would opt for the Cobra Replica. Caterhams look like great fun, but are probably more "race ready" then I would like. The Cobra, although raw too, if probably that much more refined for my taste.

Caterham baby.. Caterham... It stands as the ultimate oversized gocart in my book... Light weight, snappy Cosworth engine.. What else do you need :D

Tough call. Probably the Caterham, and use it to go autocrossing on Sundays. If I was retired and had lots of free time, I'd take the Cobra, weld in a cage, and hit Spec Five road racing with it.

I'd take the Caterham, it looks a bit more handle-happy.

****ing what? That's right.

I think it should be called a track car.

A weekend car would be something open-top cruiser like . Maybe a SL or Pagani Cabriolet.

Usually replica cobras are more comfortable the caterhams (speaking fom experiance). Be it also most replicas are faster than most caterhams in speed (excluding all the properly fast caterhams like the fireblade etc.), though caterhams also tend to own cobras on the corners. It all depends on what caterham you've got and what kit car company, the doner car and the general spec of the cobra. Personally I'd go for the Cobra as caterhams are two to a penny round here :) .

I would take the Caterham. I've driven one, and it was fantastic.

Oh, and Flerbizky, most of them have Rover K Series engines in them these days.

Rover K engines are used in loads of rover cars, discovery the lot. But i heard theres a problem with gaps appearing in the seals around the pistons. Its a terrible engine

personally i would take the cobra, although based on an old car, it still looks better than the caterham

Depends on how the weekend is gonna be going, but seeing as how I live in Texas, we're all big ford people....anyone knows that Ford is the Best in Texas. So driving around in an icon like the cobra, powered by a 427, would be the only way to go. However, if for some reason I was going to be going on a track...Caterham all the way.

If I'm going to be cruising through the country side and maybe through some small towns and do an occational auto-cross I would prefer the Cobra. It turns more heads (:

The Rover K-series engine is famous for being the most powerful engine per unit mass in existence (before you go mental and add turbo/superchargers and naaaaaaawz).

But it's also famous for, literally, exploding.

Neither really appeal to me, but a Caterham on slicks, with an S2000 drivetrain does sound tempting...

Today yeah.. I was just dreaming... A Caterham with a 2 liter DOHC Cosworth engine - Mmmmm,, Tasty ;)

I'd take the Snake. Although if I had to choose my favorite repli-car, It would be an Austin-Healey 3000.:D

A friend of my dad's used to own an Austin-Healey. I don't know what model, but it was an original. My Dad borrowed it own day - said he couldn't get rolling without spinning the wheels.

I would die in the Cobra.

Well, I'd probably die in the Seven, but it'd be messier and sooner in the Cobra... :D

A guy who works on some of my hot rods has a Cobra. He let me drive it once. It's scary, and fun. I pick the Cobra.
