the pixelation on the camaro race car is cool, it looks like road dust and rubber. kinda realistic as far as pixelation goes 👍 not so much for the s2ooo though. but even with that its not too shabby of a picture :)

i really dig the spoon sports civic on the front page. it has wonderful color!

i love the ITR shot! the right color too. the subaru shots are looking great as well. the s2000 could have used a little more improvement, but i like how the pavement looks on the picture. the second one's not too bad either. keep it up man!

Clean shots, i love the 2nd scooby one and the 1st S2000 pic.
Great update. 👍

Thanks for the comments guys! Heres a little update for today.

Damn those are nice pics. Thats a beautiful car and color for it. The 1st pic, if you notice the color of the trees strengthen the photo and add a lifelike feeling to it. The 2nd pic is just great man. lol

Thanks for all the comments again guys!! Todays update was kind of something I just thought of as I was taking some pics. I rarely do really dark cars because of the way they look in GT4 but these are exceptions. I actually really liked how both of these looked on the track.

Edit: I took this one a few minutes ago, and this is what I thought of when I saw the result.

Oh man Whitson, those are beautiful. For a relatively new guy, you are getting good in a hurry. The first RX-7 is very clean for a black car. The Cougar shot is just awesome, looks so evil just cruising around Infineon. Great update my friend 👍

Thanks for the comments guys. And thank you ver much streetz!

Today I just have two I was working on. Nothing amazing, just some stuff I was working with. And a bit different style then my usual.

Nice silvia pic. You played with the colors nicely to get a really good feel.

I really love the black RX7! Tha really jumped out at me! I though of doing a black car today, but decided it was too dark. I guess that's not the case. There is a little to lightness going on in the background IMO, though.

wooooooh, man those are looking great. how did u do the decals on the first one? nice colors on both of them, love the blur on the HKS Silvia too. great work.

Thanks for the comments guys. Well what I do for the decals is I visit www.brandsoftheworld.com and I search the company. I download the eps containg the logo. A eps file can be sized to 3000x3000 without losing quality. So I get the logos that fit the car. And I use various methods mostly (rotate, scale, distort, perspective) to get the right angles. Then I apply it to the car.

I am working on a project where I have to add reflections by hand to the decals, but you can usually get away without that. By setting the decal's layer opacity to something a bit lower. Or if its going on a white car, you can choose the decal's layer type to multiply and adjust the opacity then too. There are a lot of methods of doing things in photoshop. One more tip too.

A lot of people use the smudge tool to smooth out the lines on the cars. I think at times it is very good, but all it does is take the crisp edge and make it a dull blurred edge. So what I do is use the clone stamp tool and I kind of draw out the jaggies the best I can with the color on the car and the black from the wheel wells. Do you get what I mean by that, if not tell me and I will try and tell you in a better way.

And btw, I use photoshop cs2 for my editing.

Nice pictures Whitsonracing. I prefer the second one it just has a really cool feeling to it. You see the probelm I have with the first is that I often put on decals onto cars alot (Digimodding or Photoshopping cars) and the HKS logo on the bonnet doesnt look quite flat to the car and one end (Far bottom right) just doesnt look right and very distorted. But in general you have a nice gallery coming on here.

I see what you mean too speedster. What you see is the decals lack of bending at that point with the hood. Thats the problem with decals, especially when you just kind of throw them on. I did a bit of tweaking just not enough. What I think would be cool with photoshop is like a way of drawing a simple 3d mesh and putting a texture or a decal or anything on it. I think illustrator might have that but I am not sure.

I could also use 3dsmax to get it on there right, but that would be a lot of work for a simple decal. But I have a few projects in mind. I am sort of working on a slight big one right now. I have way too many ambitions though in my life.

Trying to start my web design business, aviation(private pilots license), buying myself a car. Doing all kinds of video editing, making incar camera mounts on my dads race car. This that, haha I should probably choose one thing and stick it out. But thats not me, life is dull if there is no variety involved.

Great update! the silvia shot is beautiful, i also love the scooby shot!

Thanks saleendriver, your words are highly appreciated. They also flatter me haha well not in that way but yeah. Moving along = ). Heres some rally car shots I took today, I liked the outcome. Do you guys know of doing the whole vectored thing with cars using illustrator. Well Ive wanted to do that with a car for how ever many years Ive been using photoshop. For like 3-5 years I think? Well I am trying to do one in Adobe Illustrator right now. Its coming out decent, I will post it when I am done or when I am close that is. SOOOOO MUCH WORK! haha.

Anyways the photos...

This shot is straight out of this movie there filming. Its about rally spectators and how their brain is similar to the size of a squirrel's brain.

Nice shots man! Really nice. The integra shot is you best imo. Great colours and a lot of speed in it. The impreza shot is also very nice. Check out my gallery if you've got some sparetime...

First shot looks really good. I also like the RSX race shot.

Nice shots you have certainly improved. So I see you most recent update is a car found off the scrap heap but you manged to get some nice pics of it. My favourite shot so far has to be your Honda Integra RSX thing that is a very good shot. If you have time check out my gallery.
