Stop me if this has already been done before...but i think Rage were waaaayyyy better than Audioslave and Audioslave won't be able to ever get as good as Rage now they've lost Zak De La Rocha!
What do you guys think?

and Cochise.
 
Both groups have their ups and downs, and I really like both. I don't think Audioslave has the passion and raw emotion in the music like Rage did, but at the same time, I think the music by Audioslave is more...well, musical.
I love both bands, and picking a favorite would be like choosing between apples and oranges.
 
That's quite a good point actually. I never really looked at it like that. But the thing I suppose I prefearred about Rage was that they were kind more aggressive and actually made a good connection of Rock with kinda Rap and Hip Hop sorta.
 
I hated Rage's old lead singer's hair, his voice, and his stupid, phony "I only care for others" views.
 
Voted Audioslave.

I've never been a big fan fo RATM, but Audioslave is very good in my opinion. Songs like Cochise, Like A Stone, Gasoline, Shadow of the Sun are real good. They are my favourites. Full of emotion IMO.

Audioslave = great.
 
I see where you're comming from but...I dunno in my little world I thought when Zack left Rage and they became Audioslave, I thought they became a bit commercial. The thing I liked about Rage were the fact they were so individual, Tom Morelo's riffs were sooooo original, no one ele where like them at the time. Their songs also made sooo much sense. Don't get me wrong I do think Audioslave is also a great band and I like quite a lot of stuff, but it's Rage for me any day.
 
Ok, this is a bit wierd for me because I bought the Audioslave album before I bought any RATM albums.

I tend to listen to the Audoslave album more. Recently I bought Evil empire and the battle against LA in a sale. I've never really liked that De la rocha guy's lyrics, but after a few listens they have grown on me a bit. Although it still seems like RATM isn't really a rock band even with their tallents.

My answer is, I haven't got a ****ing clue.
 
rage all the way! audioslave are good but they're no match for rage live! i was lucky enough to see them at leeds festival just before zach left and they were phenomenal!

Mistay, get their first album, you wouldn't believe that it's from 1991, and it's easily their best!
 
The first Rage album is there best; and it really is ahead of its time musically. It's just excellent, and so I tend to prefer Rage over Audioslave, though I do like Audioslave a lot.

The first album is self titled. So it's called: Rage Against The Machine.
Yea the first album was justr something else. I don't think there was really anyting like it around for it's day. Although I can't decide between Battle Of Los Angeles or the first album. Which one is better.
Order of Rage Album's (order of the best to worst in my opinion)
1/2)Either the first one or last one (Rage Against The Machine and Battle Of Los Angeles)
3)Renegades
4)Evil Empire

I think that's all they did.
I managed to pick up Renegades and Evil Empire for just a £5 each.

Evil Empire was the second one I think.
I actually thought Evil Empire was the worst one.:confused:

No that's Renegades from the sounds of it. Renegades was the third one I think....don't quote me on it...?:confused:
The first one has a grey and black front cover. It has some bloke engulfed in flames on the front and has "rage against the machine" aling the bottom of the front in white writing on black.
 
Ahh, yeah i've seen that one.

I'll be sure to pick it up in the sale or something.

If in the U.K. HMV and Virgin are doing some big Sale thing, like trying to out do each other. As I said I managed to pick up Renegades for a fiver today. Try and get down ther if you can.
If you don't live in the U.K. :lol: ...j/k:p ;) . I'm sure you copuld easily order it really cheaply from a music web site.

Yeah, I live in London.

I didn't see that album on sale in the Local HMV (although they did have a sale on so I bought some Pixes and marilyn manson). But they might have it in the Tottenham court road HMV (you know the big arse one).

That must be one massive sale. Probably find it in there along with every thing else ever produced by a musically influnbeced person. My god man I'd be there now with about £500 making the most of that sale!
 
I'm buying too many cd's as it is. I seem to get a new CD every 2 weeks or so. If it's an old album I can probably find it cheap even if it ain't on sale. I got Evil empire at some dodgy CD shop for like £4.

Damn. That's quite good. Yea I don't usually buy Cd's but just simply copy them. It's gotta be either a very special CD/band for me to buy it or very cheap!;)
 
I like having origianal's instead of copies. They look nicer and tend not to break as easily, especially some of the cheaper CD-R's. Mind you all my CD's are special to me. :p
 
Fair enough. The only reason why I have copie's is beacause I can't always aford new cd's.
