I hope schumi wins he's just the best driver in f1. Just be honest, Alonso only wins because he is driving in the best team. In San marino schumi holded him of his back for 30 laps and Alonso had a faster car! that guy is just a sissy. Kimi knows what racing is too but he doesn't make a chance in the championship right know. Schumi should just take 2006, then retire or go to somewhere he got some more competition.👍

Schumacher obviously braked because he knew there would be a huge crash if he didn't. Had Schumacher stayed on it there's no way they'd both have got through without colliding. It wasn't so much brave from Alonso, but intelligence from Schumacher.

Whether or not Schumi saved both of their lives by backing out, it showed that Alonso has plenty of testicular fortitude. So does Kimi. It sounds like v-tec civic thinks that Michael is the only decent driver in F1. That's obviously not true.

He says that Schumacher's the best driver and Alonso only wins because he's in the best car. I agree with him to an extent. He doesn't say that Schumacher's the only decent driver, just that he's better than the rest.

Though, he does have a rather short memory, saying that Alonso is a sissy because he couldn't pass Schumacher at Imola when he clearly had a quicker car when the situation was reversed last year.

Schumacher in his prime was better than Alonso is now. But right now I think that they are equal in skill. Kimi is also there, but his car is a little slower this year. I think that in a couple years, Alonso and Kimi will be as skilled as Schumacher was.

I doesn't think Schumacher is the only decent driver in f1, I think he's the best in f1. and if your driving in f1 you has to be quite a decent driver so even alonso knows how to drive but i think that some drivers in lower teams are better than him. Alonso just brought a lot of money and came to renault and now renault is the best team with the best car but Alonso isn't the best driver. I really would like to see if you would put all f1 drivers in equal cars and than have a race I don't think Alonso would be standing very high in the results.

@kylehnat: kimi might become very skilled but I'm not sure about Alonso. Next year he will go to mclaren then we will see.

I want M Schumacher to win this season but chances are Alonso will take it. The only other current driver I think deserves to win a championship is Barrichello. It's a shame Honda can't give him what he needs.

IMO I think you could put Mark Webber in that list as well, back in his Jaguar days Mark out-Qualified Ferraris, McLarens and Williams a number of times and was always light years ahead of his team mates. The only difference between him and the guys in your list is that Mark has yet to drive a car capable of not only winning races but winning championships.

Webber is a good driver, he has got some pretty good results in his career. Its just his Williams car is having trouble lasting a race.

7 DNFs for Webber (5 of which were car related) compared to only 3 for Villeneuve, that is how JV is ahead of MW in the points. Webbers DNF in Monaco (which was car related) cost him a definite podium if not a possible Grand Prix win. In Monaco Webber proves my point, if he has a decent car underneath him he is more than capable of keeping up the pace with Alonso and Raikkonen

Bitterness aside, I hope it's a battle to the end between Schumacher and Alonso. And while those two are fight'n it out, Scott Speed comes from out of nowhere to take the Championship. Yea, I know . . . delusional!

I would have loved to see Jaques or Barrichello take it. Like Irvine almost did in 1999 where it came down to Suzuka the last race to decide championship between Irvine and Hakkinen. Ferrari went on to win constructors that year.
