See, that doesn't make sense to me. Let's say GT5 is like a theme park, and in that theme park are some lame rides, some fast rides, and some awesome rides. You have passes to go on the biggest rollercoasters straight away, bypassing all the other rides and not having to queue. Fantastic. The next day, you decide to start out at the beginning and work your way around, building up to the big rides. While this is fun, you cannot get away from the fact that you have already experienced those big rides - the anticipation is just not the same.
OK, so thrashing a Veyron around the Nurb on the PSP is not going to be the same as thrashing the same car around the same track on the PS3. So, that in itself gives you something to look forward to. However, potentially starting out with a Veyron on the PS3...doesn't seem right.
I dunno...I guess games and gamers are changing. The pace of life is ever-increasing, and people seem to have less and less time for things. Maybe people should have the option to have all cars and all tracks available up-front in arcade and on-line mode, and just use the career mode if you want to feel like you've earned something. Difficult balance.
