Who here doesn't like the camera angles in GT4 and GT5??

I could use the other views, but I'm just too familiar with the chase cam. I love it. And it'll be cooler when I can stare at the modifications I've done to it while racing! :)

Nonetheless, I still look forward to using the cock-pit view now and then. PD has put in too much work for me to ignore them.

Right, and that's much the same with me - I'm so used to views like hood cam and bumper cam that I just cannot get on with chase cam at all.

I too am looking forward to seeing what all of the cars look and drive like in cockpit view because as you say, a lot of work has gone into those. Some of them I might even find I prefer in cockpit view, and the only way I'll know is by trying.

I'm looking forward to use cockpit view, at least at GT mode, which is when I'm racing just for fun. Chase cam is a little bit strange to use, especially when you're driving with a wheel, you cannot notice very well when the car changes direction, but it's quite good to use if you're playing with a pad. However, I can't feel any sense of speed when I'm using chase cam, that's why I rarely use it.

Bumper cam for online, time trialing and when grinding for A-Spec points ( if it exists in GT5 ).

Welcome son to the Church of Interior Enlightenment, we prefer interior view and once you get used to it you'll never go back....

^Funny thing for me is that I like driving from the chase cam since I like looking at my car too while I'm destroying the AI. And if extensive modifications and paint shop feature come to fruition then the chase-cam gets the nod even more from me.

Interior is a nice change up now and then for me, but for some odd reason it feels claustrophobic.

I know I'm weird.:crazy:
 
They should have a cam that's under the car. Like, under the front bumper, and in about 3-5 feet (as if you were a mechanic on his back, and so that the undercarriage is above you). Would be sort of cool!

Haha, I wouldn't go quite that far just yet! I'm still a hood-cam purist, but I do know from past experience and other games that if the camera angle works and the view of the road is decent, some cars are OK.

Or a cam for the extremely lazy/B-spec addicts called chauffeur-cam whereby you sit on the backseat being driven by B-spec Guy whilst either looking around and enjoying the view ( including 2D trees...) or grab a digitally recreated lap-top which you can use as an internet browser when online passing the time.....:D

Sorry for the confusion, I don't hate B-spec as I've used it often myself in GT4 when I didn't have time/or couldn't be bothered to grind the same events over and over again...:)

i never play behind the car. but [/B]i hate the "roof" camara view. i think its better to have the camara on the hood of the car, it has a better driving experience.[/B] + when you play whit the roof camara view, and drive whit the Mitsubichi lancer or Mini Cooper, your entire screen is filled whit roof. or when u drive a ford focus, you only see that big antenne which splits your tv-screen in two like an 2-player multiplayer game.

Agree, i only lately got GT5:P and i cant seem to find the view i want, does anybody know if it has a "hood" camera view? As i find the roof one makes me feel like im miles off the car, and the bumper one just far to close to the road.
Or does anybody know what views will be available in GT5? (that we have seen/know of?)
I use the "hood" view on NFS:Shift and i think its great, i prefer it over interior view as i dont like seeing 2 wheels ahead of me.

GT5P does not have a hood cam, but the latest videos of GT5 show that it now has one, so I'm happy! I expect the full release to have the following views:

- Hood
- Bumper
- Chase
- Cockpit

It might end up with a roof cam, and chase cam might end up with a couple of variations (near and far), but for me, there is only one worth bothering with, and it's at the top of that list ;)

I have always used bumper cam in GT2-4 as that was the most realistic. But now that GT5P has the interior view is use that. I cannot drive using chase view. It's just not that real and I can't place the car on the track properly.

But having read what alot of people have said the chase cam shows off the car and what is around you.

My solution to not being able to see other cars around (if it's included) will be head tracking and the mirrors.

I also usually watch most of the replay because GT has amazing graphics and the cars move around realistically unlike alot of games.
 
I don't really remember the chase cam from GT3...(I haven't played since my bro borrowed the game T.T) The chase cam in GT4 isn't so bad. I have grown completely used to it. It is still loose enough that small changes in the car's attitude don't cause "jagged" movements in the view.

The problem with GT5 that I've seen is that the chase cam is 100% locked stiff to the car, so any small quirks in the car are shown in the camera. This is no problem with the views within the car itself(interior, bumper, roof) as the view angle moves relatively close to the axis of the car's rotation. The chase cam is quite a distance from the car, however, so you don't only get a rotational change of view, but the camera actually sweeps from side to side as well. I find this to be quite disorienting, especially with a touchy car.

I hope they change it back, or make the lock an option as others have suggested, before the game hits the shelves.
 
I'm fine with the driving angles. but the REPLAY angles, im 50\50 about.

50% are nailed perfect blend of scenery and action, the other 50, were placed by donkeys with thin retinas, im talking about half the Nurb angles and half the Sarthe angles, too low, too much low res background being shown, not enough showcase on racing or scenery just dull lifeless angles.

So keep the artsy theatric angles, and instead of the SYNC replay mode(with all that wacky zoom in and out hocus focus red blue nightmare) have a Television style replay, instead of focusing on any one given car, focus on the action going on, a battle, overtaking, or just a really hot lap.
 
I prefer my camera locked. :lol: I can drive with it wobbly, but somehow it feels somewhat slower. I find it much easier to tell where the apex is when the camera's fixed. :sly:

But that's just me. :)

Edit: Having the choice to lock/unlock would be the best option though. Also, I never noticed the change from GT3 to GT4. :lol:

Even though the camera seems close to the car in GT5P, but the car looks far away. Does anyone think the same way?
 
For me, I usually prefer the roof cam or the interior, depending on the car. Im not a fan of the bumper cam because I feel like I cant place the car right on the road. I only really use chase cam on cars that have flat or steeply raked fronts for the same reason. But that is just me.
