Its a British TV show so I don't know if you can view it anywhere else.

If you do watch it please give me any information on who the 'Stig' really is or who you think it is, thanks.

"The Stig" is an English ex-F1 driver called Perry McCarthy.

He had a very, very short F1 career - including a memorable 200m weekend (he started the car, exited the pits, broke down in the pit-out lane and went home) - as his team went bust.

yeah, ive seen it a couple of times, but it was "the best of Top Gear". I get my Grandad to record episodes, then send them over here. I love the show, and so does my freinds at school (the tape gets circled aorund the group).

I royally hate the show. I cant stand that moron jeremey clarkson, and his little buddy...or whatever that kid's name is drives me nuts. And really...why the hell do they call him the 'stig'? But most of all I HATE JEREMEY CLARKSON. Thanks...

Yea, he is a bit of a pr:eek: k.

But it is a good show, and features the cars you want to see. Pity i cant see it that often cos it is on satellite TV :(

Jeremy is an embarrasing old duffer, but top gear is a good programme...i watch it (almost) every week....

i loved the piece on the gt40....and the stig managed to get upto 109mph in his Jaguar on an aircraft carrier runway!...then he ran out of tarmac... spaz...sppllaaassshhhh

Jeremy rulz! He he kick ass funny, and usually takes the piss outa stuff i hate too, Top Gear rulz! I have been watching it for years, but since my move to the middle-east, i can still watch it once a week just about, on BBC world.

I watch it every week. I think it's really good now that they've got James May on. And the format has settled down, and it all works rather well.

The Stig is indeed Perry McCarthy. I can recommend his autobiography to anyone even remotely interested in motor racing. It's called Flat Out Flat Broke.

Yeah, it's a great book. (I got a signed copy too when Perry was on the Isle of Bute for the Mount Stuart Motorsport event. Mount Stuart is the ancestral home of the Marquis of Bute aka Johnny Dumfries.) *

According to an article I read in Top Gear magazine a while back, the Stig was part of a 4 man team doing a 24 hour lawnmower race. Nothing wrong with that (except it's a bit weird racing lawnowers!) until I noticed that the race was on at the same time as Le Mans, where Perry was driving.....

* This bit isn't meant for you Giles. I know you'll know!:D

I've kinda went off Top Gear since they changed the format of the show.

Luckily I now have better sources for cars, so TG isn't essential.

i dont.

I prefer the 5thGear clips i've seen lately... we see Vicky Butler Henderson a lot more than Tiff, and she's just better to look at than Clarkson or that little wanker.

I actually caught 5th gear yesterday, it's like the other half of topgear. Tiff and Viki are still awesome. Although Tiff got to autocross (well a tiny tiny track, like motorsports land in gt2 but smaller) a ford Ka, a Hyundai and a Kia. :odd:

Anyway i'm rambling now.

But topgear is always good for a chuckle, because they have an audience who Jeremy just always makes fun of.

Oh and you forgot the long haired guy.

James May is the best.

What do you think happened to Stig? Was his catapulted off the end with him on deck? Or did he really drive off the edge of the ship?

I just wonder if they did it so the stig wouldn't be on the show anymore. But it would kinda suck without his fast laps.

I wonder if they have a track day at their specialy created track. Or even better they could put it in GT4. :D

They do have track days, but only for journalists I think (I read in FHM anyway, whilst at the barbers :D ). Yea I would like to drive round that place in GT4, though when they do laps I always get confused with the layout as it seems to me that they double back on themselves in some parts of the track.
