I think Michiganders are just easily pleased. Thinking of Woodward and the Grand Rapids Metro Cruise, it often seems as though "common but special" models are often more popular than the stereotypical favorites. It often seems more like a "Hey, I haven't seen one of those in forever" type of excitement compared to "Wow, that's a pretty nice car."
