I am outraged. Who the hell said, that hip hop music was the most appropiate music to fill the background of the many racing games?. Need for Speed Underground is going to do this. I downloaded the NFSU trailer here and I was immediately turned down by the horrible music.

Is this a stupid fad or what. I can only blame The Fast & the Furious for beginning this crap. Fortunately not all the games do that, as Midnight Club 2 had electronic and techno music. NFSHPII had the option to switch to rock music. The intro music from Kaido Battle has japanese music, which IMO rocked hard 👍

The thing is developers need to add techno or trance music to their racing games, as the least thing you need to hear while racing are some stupid and mediocre lyrics. As you know trance has no lyrics but cool music, hearpumping music. Thats what we need.

GT3 had a couple of these crappy songs, one from snoop dog, the other one I dont remember, but it had some really good ones to back it up, like all the ones from daki kasho (mirage, obscure).

I prefer my own music. If the PS2 had a harddrive like X-Box's and you could rip CD's, thats what'd I do. Otherwise, unless I can get good music on the game, I turn it off. On GT3 I turned off all the techno and rap and left the rock on there.

I turn off all music except the menu music. During a race, music is distracting, makes it harder to hear your engine and determine shift points. (0.02c)

Hip Hop, even do it doesn't fit (at least in GT3) doesn't bother me half of much as the industrial techno crap made by daiki kasho, and I'm into techno and trance, but that "music" made by daiki... :irked: 👎 five more great rock songs or something could've been in GT3 instead.
I take off the music while racing too, I only leave it when I'm watching a replay synchronized to the song.

I don't listen to any music while driving, but hey! what about som trucker-country in the speakers - racing the gtone at midfield, now that would be something!

Lol, You blame F&F even if GT3 was out well before F&F came out. Ooook. I'd take DMX, and Wu Tang, long before I'd ever consider driving around to the Midnight Club 2 Theme song. Techno is annoying, it's good for about 3 minutes then it's a pointless blend of beeps and buzzes in a DJ's pathetic attempt to get known. Hell i'd take COUNTRY before Techno, And I HATE country.

Techno gives me headaches, really bad headaches. I'd probably go into seizures if I ever saw a video for one of those songs.

And I am open-minded, I DL'd a huge list of techno songs recommended by GT3 players, listened to, and hated each and every one of them.

After I was done I sat back, listened to some Styles P, and ate a half a bottle of tylenol.

Who the hell said Alternative was ok with racing games?

This thread is stupid.

I also think it fits perfectly, when I play midnight club2, I usually only listen to the rap songs, and I usually turn of the music on my games, and listen to my own music which usually happens to be rap, and I have been doing this long before fast and furious coming out. So don't blame it on the movie. Everyone has different tastes so if you don't like the rap music, just turn it off, and listen to something else, that is why most games let you choose what song, or type of song you want to listen to when you race. Just because you don't like the rap music doesn't mean it shouldn't be in the game.

P.S. I agree with Viper Zero

I cant remember the last time some one baught $4000 worth of subs to play blink 182 or Garth brooks.

Fact: You will hear more about racing and cars in hip hop more then ANY other type of music.

Lol. Seriously, how does someone intend on racing BETTER, when they're listening to something like, grung or something intended to piss you off, you're just going to hit a wall or spin out, get pissed and break your controller..Not too smart.

Well... at least my peice of **** tercel is more reliable than any American car, but we are not going to get into that discussion now. Besides whoever thought I used my Tercel for racing is stupid enough to even post it.

You all ****ing suck. You guys keep spreading the biased opinions to other people to make it a fact. Look, all y'all, keep opinions to yourself, not instigating them to make this thread a flamer. You guys never learn, don't you?

They should do the CD thing that you could do with Vigilante 8: Second Offense, just pop in a CD and play it through the menu. Man that game sure ruled in its day. :)

You do realize that with that statement alone you just flamed more than anyone else that has posted on this thread. Just thought I'd let ya know :D

:cough hypocrite cough:

Its all down to personal preference. I like rap hip hop and garage as much as MistaY likes rock but it don't matter. When it comes to racing games I would just put on my regular selection and turn off the in game music which I don't like in particular or just have no music at all. In all I reckon the engine noise, the screeching tires and yourself shouting out loud in a victory is good enough for me

I prefer something from the Electronica genre for game music but anything will do as long has it has a good beat. If you ever get the chance, sit down and watch Speed Tribe on the Speed Channel (formerly Speedvision) and you'll see why music from the electronica genre better fits racing games. That was my 0.02.

well i dunno about u guys..well i like to shut off all my music in gt3 and...just listen to myself farting down the laguna seca corkscrew...*sigh* the fresh smell of mothernature:rolleyes:

If you don't like rap music, you can turn the music off, and put headphones on. BTW, check your tampon while you're at it.

Exactly.
Who cares, this is just like your rap is crap thread, it's just your personal opinion.

And signal, i'd edit that picture before a mod comes and does it for you, although they might tend to agree with you anyway.

I personally don't care wh at kind of music is played on the "radio" in racing games; usually you can just turn the music off and listen to my own music on my stereo...
