Hi,

Who use the Driving Force Pro on GT6 ? Please the Gt Community I need some help about wheel settings and cars settings , many thanks .

Regards.

It is the only wheel I tried (in a friends house) I felt a bit disappointed from the Force feedback and general feel, but its kinda old wheel, I suppose the likes of G27 are much better.

Yep of course but the price was really interesting : 30£ on gumtree and it is definitely better than the controller !!
Please I need some advices.

I use a DFP , the wheel is pretty noisey when trying to do big/fast movements, but under normal driving conditions its ok.
Pedals are the weakest point but you can do a few things to help with the brake pressure. (squash balls, bungie cords, foam squares etc..)

Its worth getting for 30 quid and if you think you like using a wheel upgrade to a G25/27 but they will set you back 150+

check this vid.

I have one too. Haven't used it much with GT5/6 but I used it a lot with GT4. Like boabmatic said, it's noisy and the pedals are not good, but it does the job. I believe it is the only wheel to have hard locking adjustments for 270 and 900 degrees of rotation. I was planning on keeping my DFP around for a while longer and using it for a secondary driving rig but I somehow lost the AC adapter.

I recently upgraded to a G27.

Have had mine since Christmas 2003. Great for what it is, but nowhere close to a G27. The G27 is on my wishlist and I recon it'll stay there untill I break my DFP. I use default FFB settings, but have altered the button config to my liking. Gear stick up for reverse and gear stick down for handbrake. Padle buttons for gear shifts.

I use it in 900 degree mode and think force feedback about 7.
Use the paddle buttons to shift as the lever is on the "wrong" side.

There isn't much else you can change settings wise for the wheel.

Been keeping an eye on ebay/gumtree for cheap G27's but they always end up close to 200 quid but I think I'll end up getting one soon as I've been playing GT6 a good bit these days compared to GT5 as when that came out I just moved house and the kids had came along so never really played it much.

Compared with newer and pricier wheels, it's a bit noisy, the pedals are 'meh' until you at least fix the brakes, and the wheel is of a small diameter (10 inches, vs 11+ for others), but it's a solid purchase for that price if it's your first wheel. Having all of those buttons on the wheel's face is a nice bonus, also.

Since you mentioned drifting, the small wheel diameter might make that a pain, but fabricating an adapter to fit a 'real' wheel onto the DFP shouldn't be too hard, though you would lose all those handy buttons.

Thanks for the advice.

Thanks for the advice.

No problem. 👍

I forgot to mention the feel of the force feedback. At +5 strength, it feels good and communicative in GT6. There's still some oscillating wobble weirdness at high speeds and over irregular surfaces, and the straight cut gears can seem a bit 'notchy' compared to helical gears (G27) and belts (T500), but it's still a solid bargain for 30£. Good luck!

I find drifting impossible too but wasnt sure if it was the wheel or my skill level ?

Settings-wise, you can change the angle of degrees of rotation with your DFP and the feedback strength. Other then that you can't really do much. If you want to do more with your wheel then don't be afraid to mod it as long as you know what you are doing. You probably haven't got much to lose with it being bought for £30.

I've never used the DFP so I couldn't say. Drifting in GT6 seems to be a bit harder and a proper setup is more crucial. Make sure to have the best setup for best results.

Just snipped a G27 yesterday for 150quid on ebay... hopefully have it for the weekend. Looking forward to seeing how much of an improvement it is and also if its a bit easier to drift or not?

set up my G27 last night..... best 150 quid I've send in ages and wish I had bought one ages ago.

the difference between them is unbelievable.

the thing is completely silent ,super smooth, the paddles are quality , so are the pedals and the shift great fun to use but the knob feels a bit cheap so prob swap it for something else.

only dilemma I have is the paddles feel so good I kept wanting to use them rather than the shifter, but then I like using the shifter too even tho I keep ending up in neutral.

still cant drift tho  but getting a lot closer compared to the DFP even after just one night on the wheel so think I've got more chance with the G27.

At least this shows that a better quality wheel is worth the investment, especially if you want to be drifting with it.
