Alt account. I wiped out in lap 1 and had to catch up from last place.

I'll be spending my week at Grand Valley for racing. I started in the McLaren and set a base time. Which was destroyed when I switched to the Ford GT Race car. So, I'm in that for the week. My current quick time is 1:50.8XX which was top 3,000 when I logged off earlier tonight.

My first race has me in P2. Someone said hello to me in the pre-race chat, and if it was someone from here, I didn't see it as my phone had my attention. Anyway, the race starts and I stay in P2, even with an off track penalty on lap 2 at some point. I go way deep in turn 1 that allows P3 to catch up. I get another off track and fall to P3 after serving it. On the final set of corners, P1 bins it and I just don't have enough power to pass for the lead and finish P2.

Race 2 starts well enough with me in P2 to start. I fall a bit in the order and am in the mid-pack. I chop the nose of a car and I effectively PIT maneuver myself and I cannot get going again due to dirty tires. All my fault after watching the replay. I finish P14.

Race 3 is much of the same, but this time I'm on the loud pedal too quick in the twisty section and go for a wild ride. I haven't done that in all of my practice laps so a note not to do that in the future. I finish P12 as I didn't want to push my bad luck further.

So, not the best start to the day. There has been a nice variety of cars in the B lobbies with not everyone in the McLaren. It makes for some good racing.

I have to hand it to you that you survived that run on the grass WITHOUT losing any control, did the other opponents complain? Considering they effectively forced you off track...
No complaints or at least not publicly 😀 It was more of a misunderstanding than them forcing me off the track, since the line naturally runs to the right on the exit and they were trying to give the other Genesis room on the left they were right to go where they did but it caught me by surprise.

If the Porsche wouldn't fit, you must acquit.
Is that an OJ reference as apparently that glove and didn’t fit…..
We used to call that lawnriding (when you peel out on someone’s nice front lawn) in the 70's. Takes a lot of practice to avoid digging in.
You don’t max, he can take any and all of the lines (at the same time sometimes)

Don’t worry he has a lot of practice 🤣

Seems like our result in a race both @Barney Da Dog and I were in (Grand Valley) late last night gave us a bit more motivation to improve our times! We did the Forum proud 😎 🥳 Kidding.... 🤣😅🫣

I started in P9 and Barney in P12 - I was up to P7 by the end of lap 3. I posted a purple time at the end of Sector 2 on lap 4 so wanting to show them kids how it is done, I overdid it at the tunnel exit and did a magnificent 420 spin that not even McRae himself could pull off in such a tight space! 😎😅

I look at the board and down to P14/ 15 is my new position. But being the kind soul that he is, I was lovingly joined by Barney right behind me so we could hold each other's arms and pass tissues between us as we crossed the line in tears dead last, together, as real friends do! ❤️ Ahem @newmedia_dev 🤣 😅 😜

On a serious note, during that race I figured out why I was spinning the rear so easily and after adjusting the FEI and NIN for a bit today, I found my balance and set the below lap just now.

Also spurred on, I am sure, was Mr Dog, as I expected to top my friend list after that lap but he and his 4C stand on the top step right now 👏😎 Well done!

Hi folks, have only been racing in GT7 (with VR) for 6 months and have to say I find it an amazing 'hobby'. Thank you to all of you for the huge impact and advice that I have found on this forum. I have managed to reach DR B and maintain it this week and the advice has been put to good use. Not bad for a 60+ I suppose and proves you are never too old to find a new distraction.

By tomorrow nyt I'll try to put some pressure on you guys. Never driven at GV in a gr3, but I recently finished the Lago Maggiore's mission on the 650s to get in real touch with the car, wich I now handle easy peasy like I do with the BM (last week at Willow we were in big minority against the Subaru, but it was so fun to beat them). So I'll see you in the low '49 / high '48.
Just hoping not to be too bold, just confident...

Edit: I can't actually edit this post with another "quote".
@Bondwhar, 50+ here, almost lost my right foot from an acute ischemic attack in the end of 2023. For almost 6 months I had no sensitivity and doctors forbidded all my precedent hobbies (seems that MTB downhill and alpine skiing are too dangerous for me nowadays). To get back my foot properly I opted for GT7, a rig and a wheel eventually in october '24. I totally agree wirh you, it's never too late and the help, fun and push for improvements I got from this forum is priceless.
