This is interesting. Notice the Mugen kit hasn't been painted, as if it was just put on that S2000. Could it be they're going back and forth between the stock parts and the Mugen ones to see how different the car behaves with different aerodynamics? (and the Mugen kit really improves aerodynamics in real life, btw) Might mean that the oft spoke about bodykit addition won't be for eye candy alone, but it'll serve an aerodynamic purpose as well.

I think that body kits kinda DO belong in GT, bikes, maybe just a little. After all, its a driving simulator. I hope that this game does not turn into a riced out game though. As for motorbikes, I would have to say you should get 1 or 2 at 100%. I'm not really sure if they really belong in GT, but I dont think that they will fit in well. I don't know what harm it could cause though.

How could GT4 have bikes?

All cars on GT games are built using a simulator which they enter suspension settings, and things like strength of the chassis, downforce, Cd figure (aerodynamics).

If you put this info in for a bike, the simulator would say:

You twist your wrist, the tyre spins indefinately.

You turn, car (bike) falls on side.

You brake, car spins.

The sim would need a total redesign of the program (?? months, possibly over a year!) to work with a bike design!

NO CHANCE!

If I'm wrong I will jump from a third storey window (i promise i will get a friend to take a photo)

sony confirmed today: NO BIKES... i do hope that all the PD talent will be put to work on a motorbike game as stunning as GT.... that would rock!

Sony have flatly denied that there is any substance to current rumours that Gran Turismo 4 will feature a hidden superbike mode.

When quizzed, Sony's European vice president of software marketing, Simon Rutter, said, "There are categorically no motorbikes in GT4." And you can't get any more unambiguous than that.

The speculation apparently began following a recent GT4 press event in Japan at which developers Polyphony Digital put a number of superbikes through their paces.

But, sadly, it seems as if two-wheeled road racers definitely won't be playing a part in the hotly-awaited PS2 speed-fest..."



I was getting worried already. Bikes don't belong in GT.

just like when they added bikes in GT3 vice city (from GT3)the phyisics engine had to be heavly modified

so if bikes were added the phyisics engine will have to be VERY heavly modified, even more than vice city was

A few Sony staffers did suggest that motorcycles would play a role in a hidden bonus section, but there is no official confirmation.

That looks like the Mugen bonnet or somthing similar, but the Mugen S2000 doesn't have a rear wing.
